Reviews after each match were not what I was referring to in the OP. By nature, they tend to be a short term view.....as does judging a players form during that match. But what gets my goat is the shear negativity and drivel posted by some on here after what was admittedly a poor result and display.....only for those same individuals to go AWOL after a couple of pretty damn good performances against top, top teams......if that's what you call 'the old doom mongerer one liner' then I can live with that! I prefer to take a longer term, bigger picture view despite the same pain when we lose or play poorly. BTW, the same applies to players; I seem to recall, with embarrassment, the abuse hurled at Lucas when he was young and learning the ropes.......look at the fella now
It's been said, but we need an out and out goal poacher. I've noticed we have been linked to Villa again, would be fantastic. When are we going to let Sterling have a pop? And Morgan. If we keep buying these guys aren't going to get a sniff.
i have said all along we need a proven quality 20 plus a season goal scorer.we cannot keep relying on suarez all the time,it is a no brainer.for whatever reason carroll is not being used.why? bellamy well i absolutley rate the guy but is he gonna score 20 plus in a season? we need a poacher in the mold of rush,fowler or dare i say it owen.yes we have outplayed teams at anfield against teams like swansea norwich man utd and now man city,yea great it is good outplaying teams but at the end of the day we need to put the ball in the back of the net.but again it dosent help that the visiting goalkeeper has played the game "of his life". this is why i have said in previous posts that in january we need to buy a player like pavlechenko,adebayor (spelling sorry),but if we are linked to somebody like david villa well good lets go for it and with the spanish connection we have well maybe it will happen. bowfowler: sterling is one for the future and when i do get the chance i do watch the liverpool reserves under 18,s etc etc and i tell you the future is very good,but we cant rush these players just yet.dont forget we have spearing,shelvey,robinson,etc etc who have had first team experience and will get more and more in the next year or so.
