Good post - agree with this completely. I'm beyond tired of people prattling on about how we should have kept this player or that player, without giving a thought to whether the player wanted to stay or whether we could have afforded to beat their other offers. It's an utterly pointless argument, with little or no basis in fact.
Sorry Shrewdchemic but I think people may be missing the wood for the trees, "prattling on about how we should have kept this player or that player" is a symptom of a management style that has been prevalent since just before Ben Davies left. There is clearly a well founded belief that we are not building or being positive....we are drifting along. Not one of the people who left has said "I was made a grest offer by you lovely Shrews but left for more games, more more or higher standard". It's a feeling that a lot of people have and they are not getting any messages telling them otherwise. Perhaps the real issue is not the fact that we have no plans or ambition but we are not being told we have no plans etc, etc
"Hall and Wildig who are capable players"... i think ive got to disagree with you there, Wildig is well out of his depth in this league and has done absolutely nothing and Hall has only had one game with good form and that was against MK the rest have been apathetic , these players ain't going to be good enough to keep us up and should be shipped out quick, it looks also like of all the loan signings GT as made to date ,all have all turned out to be pups, and its getting to the time now were GT's tenure must come into question!!.....Parry was good at the start of the season, Morgan plays one good game out of every four, Summerfield is playing well at the moment and so is our goalkeeper(luckily),Grandison, Jones, Jacobson and Taylor all pretty average though, good enough perhaps to keep us fighting, but that's about it..
I am sure we are living in parallel worlds. I could have sworn Hall played no part in the MK Dons match.
