Our relationship with Everton is very different than the relationship with United. I'm not a scouser, I'm from mid Cheshire... but still my earliest memories from school are being asked "red or blue" it always the same question to everyone. It was assumed you supported either Liverpool or Everton... the mix was roughly equal... but nonetheless, grew up with friends of both colours and everyone got along. Half my childhood friends were toffees... can't hate em. From what I've heard from people in Liverpool it was much the same... only more so. When we've had tragedies... Everton has always been there for us. We are more like siblings than true enemies... at least that is how it was before I left blighty... heard some harsh rhetoric from both sets of fans since. As such...and as sibling rivals... wish them the best... they just arnt allowed to do better than us... we MUST be better than them.
Milk... Much the same, I'm not a scouser either but would like Everton to do well. However, I see Man Utd as a bigger game/rival.
Everton are rivals. United are bitter enemies... / sorry Swarbs and King Eric... its your club not you that is the enemy.
No worries, I feel the same about City. Happy for them to finish second behind us every single season I figured some of you wouldn't have a problem with Everton winning, tho' I'm sure there are certain LFC posters who would rather eat their own **** than see Everton win a trophy in a season Liverpool won nothing. Three guesses who they might be...
I am a scouser and family and friends have always been divided between the two clubs. When I was a kid the rivalry always seemed to be fairly good-natured. It's sad that over the last two decades or so some serious animosity has crept in. Football without rivalry would be bland and toothless, but there's a big difference between rivalry and enmity in my book. I don't consider anyone in football my "enemy". Even mancs.
i want whatever is best for LFC. if that means Everton doing well so be it, it is what is best for my club in the long run that matters, and European football of some sort is def that to attract better players here,so it will probably be worth it for the short term pain lol. all clubs have probably helped another club they didn't really want to at some point
I think it bothers Everton more than us who finishes higher. I mean last year we were terrible and it didn't really bother me they finished above. When you're out of the top four it doesn't really matter so much for me. This would change it we're both fighting for top four next year. I don't really have a problem with Everton as long as they move aside when we get our **** together!
If no one leaves (apart from Carragher) and we make some good signings we can push for CL next season. Europa league next season.
If Rodgers stops changing a winning team to accomodate his useless love child, we'll be fine and push on for 5th/6th. He also needs to stop saying stupid comments in the press about our chances of moving forward. Just shut up and kick the team up the arse before every game. One game at a time.
