A short career at 35k quid per week, after tax is approx 1.2 million per annum. After living expenses, let's say of 5,000 quid per month, available to invest is 1.14 million per year.Absolutely screw them for every penny it’s a contract and needs to be honoured. It’s a short career the tea lady can serve tea till she dies these poor lads need every penny now.
@ 3 % that's 34,000 quid per year. Only one season is required to get an annual income from playing for 1 season for the rest of his life (if he's smart).
Is that a tea ladies annual salary ? The tea lady that needs to work for 40 years to survive ?
Note: I'm not 100% sure of Inland Revenue's tax rates given I've been away for almost 50 years - so I may be out a bit !
