At least we're actually trying to win it rather than just trying to stay in the competition! Yes, it doesn't look like we'll succeed, then again doesn't look like you will either. I'd much rather fail by trying to win than fail by trying not to lose.

You will understand I cannot attach too much importance to the views of Newcastle supporters after all if you follow this forum you would see that just a couple of months ago they had written off another team and that team are now doing very well it is possible that Sunderland will get a run of luck like that team and shoot up the table

I'd hardly call beating Spurs and Man Utd away and Chelsea at home a 'run of luck'. As for you lot, you wanna hope you start winning those home games because if you don't, you are down (as you can't score away from home you won't pick up many points on your travels).

p.s Here's the really worrying stat for the dismal mackems - so far in the year 2013, they have played (by my reckoning) 34 league games (home and away and against top, middle and bottom order teams) and have accumulated the grand figure of 26 points from said games. If they continue that average over the rest of the course of this season they will (as history no doubt will tell us) be relegated.

Oh and mind that gap mackem, its now 18 points.

Norwich v Swansea, kick off 1.30pm today.

Could do with a Norwich win here, that would put them a massive eleven points clear of the dismals (who by the way are the only team in any of the top four divisions not to have made it into double figures points-wise). All these other teams winning will feel like a slow strangulation for the mackems.

By the way, where is Fredor? Has he seen the stats and gone in a huff? Poor mackem <ah diddums>

You seem to have avoided the question about the rules. I cannot respond as I fear the sensitive chip on the shoulder tendencies of your kind may result in tears, tantrums and ridiculous amounts of beel <ok>

Looking at their board, they seem to think the problem is with their goalscorers... I think the problem is Sunderland will need to play a billion more games before they hit the magical 40 point safety mark...

With no comments to the contrary I think that it has been accepted that Newcastle have a better team than Sunderland this season but overall SAFC have the points on the board when it comes to being the best of the best on a more consistent basis so enjoy this season but remember there will be other seasons and in future when you write on this forum comparing the two teams add a caveat that you are just referring to the present season not the overall merits of the two clubs
    Merry Christmas

I didn't realise we were allowed to bring parallel universes into the equation here...

Do you shag your sister in that one as well?

I think this is where I'm required to step in as mod and tell you you're a bad person who have crossed the very blurred lines of acceptable on not606. Consider yourself on a warning. Any more of that sort of stuff and I will be forced to tell on you.

I'm not interested in the merits of either team. We're nearly always better than you so there is not much fun to be had in taking the piss about that. I want to know where the line is on me taking the piss out of you. I'm trying to establish boundaries so I know when you consider yourself being bullied rather than having a laugh. I'm just being considerate because of your peoples sensitivities.

We should start a poll to see if he stays or goes... Oh wait.... That's been done.
Either way we could just ignore the poll and get out the ban hammer anyway... Oh wait....

The merits of the the two clubs will become even more apparent if and when you end up in the Championship, unfortunately I can't see Poyet the floor soiler hanging around to narrow the ever widening gulf between the clubs.

I more or less (but definitely less) apologise for actions roughly attributable to a poster on this forum who may or may not share a username with myself. I'm sure this will put an end to the matter. Take it out on Hacky Sack and ACS, they're bad eggs.
