I can't decide whether I want Chelsea to beat them in the League Cup or I'd prefer they have the extra games and suffer the pain of a semi final loss?

No problem for me Hacky, I want Chelsea to beat them and I think they will. We can't have the mackems crowing about anything yet alone a semi-final spot.

For me it's got to be a shocking ref's decision in the 97th minute of injury time in the semi-final which sees the substitute keeper getting sent off (he's on because of a disgraceful challenge on the first choice keeper that went unpunished) and Cattermole(the stand in keeper) letting the penalty go between his legs.

I honestly think a little bit of wee would appear.

If Sunderland lose today - I honestly believe they are gone.

    0-0 it ended.
Apparently it was the refs fault. <whistle>

Blimey, the useless mackems have failed to score a single goal in any of their last SIX premiership away games :cheesy:

    That must be a record.

Blimey I know our transfer policy has taken an ambition nosedive over the years but still...

If we're at the point where opportunistic cherry-picking from a relegated local rival is even considered, never mind discussed, I want out.

But yeah, perhaps when Remy turns us down again in the summer JFK will placate the fans by swooping in to nab Dozy Outascore.

    His pronunciation, not mine.

I wouldn't worry too much about which players you would like to but as by the time Sunderland are relegated most of you will not be alive to see it in the meantime try getting somewhere near the number of league titles that Sunderland have won but then again by then none of you will be alive

Can I just check fredor before we enter into any banter, what are the rules? I don't want you running off crying to supermods or feeling you've been bullied. I am trying to understand mackem sensitivities better these days.

Christ most of you ****s weren't alive when you last won the league.

    Enjoy the gorgeous relegation.

And for the record, I'd want no bastards from their team. They're all ****, and they'll be lucky to get over £5m for anyone.

Not really bothered about what goes on down the road, it's what happens up here that we've got to be bothered about.

No worry Hack sorry to have to bring you back down to earth but FACTS can be a nuisance when you are dreaming its all in the records and I think Sunderland at some point got a bit carried away with finishing as the top team in the top league and decided to give Newcastle a chance to catch up but they will not keep waiting forever so get your finger out

How many competitions do you need to put together to put Newcastle ahead a couple you missed were played on Newcastle Quay with the coats down as goals but all I am counting is THE TOP TEAM IN THE TOP LEAGUE or to spell it out for you the one that Newcastle are TRYING to win this season and the same one you are comparing the results with Sunderland this season
I sincerely hope I have not spoilt your Christmas that was not my intention but just to keep you up to date on FACTS !!!!!!!!!!!

Not only are the dismal mackems five points adrift of safety (and as we have already seen haven't scored an away goal in the last six away games) but their dismal goal difference at present means in effect that they are really six points adrift). Given that they can't win away from home the pressure therefore really is on them to deliver at home. Next up for them is Norwich - a team they could only draw with at the Stadium of ****e in March and one which recently won at WBA. You can bet then that Chrissy Hughton will have Norwich up for the trip to mackemland. In fact, the mackems will be facing a number of mid to lower table teams like Norwich and the mackems had better get it right else they really will be for the chop.
