Wow just wow at some of the comments on here literally having a go at the team they support which was promoted last season, who sit top of the league, have only lost 2 games all season, have scored the most goals, have won the most games, have played some fantastic football, have beat some of the promotion favourites and yet we have one bad game in 13 and all of a sudden we're crap! 3 tough tough games in a week anyone? physically demanding? great effort put in? 5 points taken from 3 tough games? lets's just look at the bigger picture from time to time for crying out loud! i took yesterday as a positive,it's shown us in a different light, when things aint going well we can still dig out a result, loads of resilience and loads of character,in my eyes we've got a great team to be proud of so can we just lay off them for a bit? COYR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well said

Of the games we haven`t won this season, yesterday was probably the only one where we didn`t have more posession and more attempts on goal than the opposition. We could and maybe should have a few more points than we have already. Reading are a good side, and improving, and to come back an take a point when not at our best is encouraging. Many of our promotion rivals will go there and not do any better - like Derby mid-week.
Chappers was superb yesterday, and surely De Ridder must start against Boro. Apart from his lay off for the goal, Guly didn`t look with it, and didn`t keep the ball well enough - maybe time to give him a rest.

......are we going to get some balls when playing away from home?

That was a great escape from a very determined Reading team playing a Saints side which contained a number of players who disappeared for most of the game, several who were out of sorts and dare I say it one or two who were not up to the task.

Determination, energy, commitment and passion are not adjectives I can apply to the Saints this evening.

Second to the ball, weak in the challenge and routinely giving the ball away are not how potential champions play.

To be honest we were that poor I thought I was watching our impoverished neighbours.

Tell you what, St Goodness. The next time you feel like you're going to write something like the above, that is driven by disappointment and frustration, stop..! Let 24 hours go by, take in a bit of news, look around and see how the SFC land lies. It tends to work for me.

Reading was always going to be a hard game, considering we didn't perform as well as we can, and we're not always gonna be on the top of our game.... I was delighted to come away with a point. We're top of the league for christsakes.....we're there to be shot at, teams are going to be up for playing us.

As someone said, when interviewing Nigel, Saints are the team to beat just like last season. Remember when we thought teams would give us more room this season. There are more good teams in this league who will come to play, but I suspect we'll have to keep an eye out for lower teams who park the bus. Saints are like impala..we need wide open savannahs to give of our best.

I think that might be one analogy too far, Fran. ;)

EDIT: Must admit, I've been feeling a bit flat all day. As you know, I'm a MotoGP fan, and one of the rising stars died today, Marco SImoncelli was going to be a World Champion in years to come. But you've made me chuckle for the first time today.

Secondstain, you are of course correct. Anthing we all say that borders on the negative is born of our desire, ALL OF US, to see this great club be follow
back in the top tier. In NA & NC we all trust - they are as passionate as we all are.

We didn`t play as we know we could have, some tired legs perhaps?
Would`ve been a different story if SDR`s goal stood, who would have been moaning then??
Aint gonna win every game, so if we turn those loses into draws its 2 points dropped for us but its also 2 points dropped for them.
