Cheers for this thread, reminds me to download Killing Jokes new album As for your thread not my type of music but I think it's what the fans want. Still love going to see SLF, Jake Burns is older and fatter but it's like stepping back in time for the evening.
Journey are up there with Foreigner, Asia, REO Speedwagon, Europe and Bon Jovi. Generic, bland MoR Hair rock. Godawful stuff.
It's all a matter of personal preference and opinion. As I say I think The Beatles are very overrated. But you're not supposed to have that opinion according to the music journos and some on here. Same with The Smiths, Paul Weller, Oasis etc. All a matter of personal taste.
No wonder you don't like it. Anyway, bands reforming? Sex Pistols was beyond sad as ****. A travesty tbh. On the other hand, I saw both Pixies and Dinosaur Jr after they got back together and they were both brilliant.
I don't mind bands going on and on, why not? The ones that reform for the filthy lucre though I have a problem with. The Sex Pistols were a publicity stunt the first time around. Fake manufactured by Malcolm McLaren so I wouldn't even bother mentioning them.
I think some people have to accpet that just because they like a particular band it doesnt mean everyone else has to. In terms of bands reforming I'm not a great fan of the idea as sometimes it can damage the good memeories you had - a little like one of your favourite players coming back to your club it's rarely as good as the first time. That said, if it's what people want and they're paying the money for it then fair play to those who carry on and on and on......
I love Glenn Hughes new project, Black Country Communion. It's amazing how he has managed to keep his voice all these years. Remember his first album with Deep Purple way back in 1974? It was awesome.
Bay City Rollers! Now there is a band. The pride of Scotland. The Scottish rock equivalent of footballs Celtic.
