Looking forward to Huddlestone and Quinn @ Arsenal on sunday, Both have enough quality to cause the gunners problems. Football isnt always about running about like headless chickens. Ball retention is also important and Hudds does that better than most when he is on his game.
Welcome back to the starting line up Mr. Livermore! Meyler would have outclassed Huddlestone there (and that's saying something according to some of you).
Tom was appalling - please don't tell me that he needs game time to get sharp - the last three games without him, we looked to be dynamic in midfield - today it looked like Quinniesta had to do almost everything. Tom was shooting the breeze or giving the ball away, fouling or taking airshots.
Looked slow, sluggish and like he's been sat eating and drinking non-stop while he's been off! Looked well fat. Quinn has been doing Huddlestone's job every game they've played together this season.
well he summed up his season tonight didn't he? looks to have a 1.1 engine built inside. turbo not included!
I wonder will Steve pull out the stats for Tom like he did for Ben Arfa and ask him to explain himself
I think Steve Bruce has a big decision to make against WBA. Hudd doesn't deserve to keep Meyler or Livermore out. They should be in on merit and he should be out until he sorts his head/ fitness out.
David Burns @bbcburnsy 38s39 seconds ago More bad injury news for Hull City, Steve Bruce tells @HumbersideSport that Mo Diame's knee injury could mean he's out for season. #hcafc
If, as I suspect, Brucey drops either of Livermore or Meyler so that he can include Huddlestone then he must be watching a totally different game to me, and it could screw up any team spirit that we currently have. Players MUST be selected based on form, NOT on reputation!
Totally agree! Huddlestone needs to sort whatever he's got going on, wheather its personal or fitness...we can't afford to have him moping about in midfield while we fight to survive!...we outplayed leicester and everton, we wont do this with huddlestone atm! ......this is a big test for bruce now! maguire had to pick alot of what huddlestone couldn't grab tonight! ...infact i remember a few times maguire had to run forward to try link up with the strikers through the midfield, because huddlestone couldn't be arsed!
I think WBA selection will show whether SB is a manager or has a soft/fearful Achilles heal when it comes to certain players. TH should simply not be in the starting eleven at this time IMO nor should he get a run from the bench if Livermore, Meyler & Quinn are playing well. TH needs some serious talking to and serious assessment at the training ground and have an inculcated understanding that he is not an automatic choice regardless of how poor his previous performances have been. I really am interested to see how SB is going to respond to this issue. TH on at West Brom will bring SB down majorly in my estimation - hard decisions have to be made.
This is bang on.. Bruce can't seriously drop meyler or livermore, huddlestone has been garbage most of the season, we picked up results while he's been away! and looked like an attacking threat....we didnt miss him in any of the games, infact i prefer how we play without him. Sure he's a good player, but i've not seen it for sometime now and its upto bruce to do the right thing now!....
Thirded. I'm not saying he should be completely dropped - he warrants a place on the bench - but if there's no injuries between now and the weekend and he makes the starting XI then there's something seriously wrong. Players should be judged on form, not their name.
