Who cares if we are in profit, we seem to be selling our best players and no matter who we get in we simply wont progress by changing players constantly. Its becoming clear that we may need to buy a whole new squad this summer, How did it get to this!
Easy, by people not accepting the fact we are not a top 6 prem team.
We are light years behind them, and even after a second half slump, still managed to finish 10th (and above them).
The next step is the hardest, the squad we have now simply isn't good enough to make that step, and looks like a player or two is going to be sacrificed in order to try and fill the squad with more quality overall
Have they sold most of the season tickets and feel that they can treat spectators with contempt or is it as I hope just newspaper talk and we've no intention of selling Jordan I fear that he will go if £18.5 million is correct-if so I hope he goes to Man U and we get players as part of the deal.

Club's have little power these days. If a player wants out for four times the pay. He will go.
It's got nothing to do with contempt for fans! Would you rather we offer him a huge pay rise? Cause I honestly don't think he's worth keeping if his head has been turned.
I agree that if his head has been turned we shouldn't offer a big pay rise;if the figures quoted are true he's on good money for a 20 year old and £15,000 is a lot more than what many earn in a year.
I'm sure that other Premier clubs pay far more to an England international;we need to be prudent but we also need to pay attractive salaries if we're going to get the quality players we need.

I agree that we should not offer a huge rise if his head has been turned;if the papers are to be believed £15,000 pw is canny money for a 20 year old.We need to be prudent but need to offer competetive salaries if we are to retain our better players and if we want to attract the quality player(s) that we need
It only seems a few short weeks ago that all I was reading on sites such as this was how ****e Henderson is! Now the same sites are full of people saying that he is the best thing since sliced bread and we would be mad to sell him.
In my opinion, the truth lies somewhere in between, and although the lad looks like he could develop into a good midfielder, he is as yet nowhere near the finished article.
I don't think it would be right of the club breaking their wage policy to keep him as it would cause bad feeling to other members of the squad. I would love him to stay and develop at the club, but if he is prepared to sit on the bench at Liverpool and get paid more than we are prepared to pay for doing it, then so be it.

RAW I think a lot of people forget how good he was last season and up to November this season. Also this season he has created a total of 82 chances (65 of which were probably fluffed by Bent in his "head has been turned" phase - or before that looking at the England game at the weekend!!)
To have only 4 players ahead of you in the table stating chances created (and only 1 of them playing in a club that finished above you) is not a bad thing.
Our "all singing & dancing English Wonderkid" Jack Wilshere scored 1 goal and created 3 this season - Henderson created 5 and scored 3. I'm not saying he's better than Wilshire but his stats certianly are. If we had had someone capable of taking a quarter of those chances I believe we'd all be raving about how good he is and not wanting rid - as his 82 chances created only amounted to 5 goals, he's not as good.
He certainly isn;t a bad player - but he has played something like 75 out of 76 games in 2 seasons - and only turns 21 next week. Surely a rest is what he needs to avoid burnout - give him a few weeks at the start of the season and I th9ink you'll see him back to his best - he wasn't the only player in the side to fail to cover themselves in glory after the turn of the year really.

I have never doubted his potential and have also been supportive of him. However, there were lots on here and elsewhere who gave him some unbelievable stick when we went through our bad run; and with him being a local lad, it will not have gone unnoticed. We seem to have a thing about criticising our local talent, Micky Gray for example, so it doesn't really surprise me that he is keen to leave.
