Good idea - you might actually win something next season then.

Why are you guys so miserable when you've been playing such pretty footy?

That's more important than winning things isn't it - I think I have the drift right?

You should all be trotting round like a dog with two dicks.

You don't know much about Spurs fans, do you? We want both!

    Chelsea's luck: -

Getting drawn against Barca in the semi
Having to play the 2nd leg away from home
Luckilly having Fabregas dive and 'win' a penalty that would have seen Barca go through
    Getting Bayern in the final
And having to play it on their own pitch
Having to take the shoot out at Bayern's end
Having a run of Valencia, Napoli, Benfice, Barcelona and Bayern Munich to win the tournament.
Not having any contentious penalty, offside, goal line or sending offs go in our favour throughout the entire tournament.

Yeah we were well lucky. <doh>

Nobody claimed you were lucky to draw Barca, only that you were unbelievably lucky to beat them. It will be a long time, I suspect, before we see Barca miss that many golden opportunities in 2 games. Anyway, this is a CL semi- final, who did you think you would get? Port Vale? As for the final, yes it was in Munich; but it could be argued that that put extra pressure on Bayern. Once again you were very fortunate to prevail.Bayern were the dominant team for virtually the whole game, but like Barca, missed a hatful of chances. The truth is that had either Barca, or Bayern taken less than half of the chances they had, you and your bums to the wall strategy, would have been crucified. And deservedly so!

    Someone's missed the point!!

You can't seriously just say we were lucky because Barca and Bayern missed chances. That happens in all games and it was down to our defending that we limited such great attacking teams to relatively few clear chances. It was also down to our own ability that we were able to convert a high percentage of the few chances we created.

Only so much that happens on a football pitch can be put down to luck as both teams are directly influencing the play. Having ref decisions go in your favour, luck of the draw, where you play the final, coin tosses for which end pens are taken at are actual luck.

Yes there is an element of luck in Bayern and Barca missing some presentable chances but every team would need that against them types of teams.

Fact remains that we had no luck that we didn't earn on the field of play. You know our route, one of the hardest routes to a cup in living memory. Plus we had no help via refs along the way.

It would be fair to say we had a fair bit of luck in the FA cup but not in the C.L. But then winning the FA cup didn't deny you a C.L spot so I suppose there is a little less to be bitter about.

As for the Semi draw, Man U had Shalke last year, not Port Vale but certainly not Barca. Luck of the draw plays a massive part and we got no luck this year.

It's you that's missing the point, amigo. They were not limited, as you say, to a few chances. They had numerous golden opportunities to win - chances that they only had to convert less than half of to bury you. Somehow, they contrived to miss them all. THAT is luck. Had you denied them any clear cut scoring opportunities, you could fairly point to your defending - but, you didn't.
As for the draw, this may be a cynical point of view, but to my mind you were never going to get Bayern in the semis. It was only ever going to be Barca or Real. Real are the La Liga champions by some distance this year. So, your maybe lucky to have got Barca instead.

why are all these Chelsea fans over here anyway? They are champions of europe. Surely they can't be bothered with a team that didn't even qualify for the competition and aren't even their local rivals.

Tell you something, if Spurs just won the champs league i'd have much better things to do than go onto Chelsea's forum.

There are some real bad winners amongst them too.

Perhaps it has something to do with the countless threads about Chelsea - on your board. If you don't expect Chelsea fans to comment on or defend their team then you really don't much get this forum business do you?

If Spurs fans (in general) had a little more grace and class there wouldn't be so much contention going on.

I was thinking the same spurfectionist. I think it's just small minds, unable to take in the bigger picture.

Why do they need to justify to us that they deserved their success? I think they are trying to convince themselves more than us. <laugh>

Get out the Brasso that cup is looking a little tarnished already.

Clearly. Real were bound to win a title eventually but Barca are a better side, were current European Champions and much better pedigree in the C.L in recent years.

    Are you writing this down?

    A. Why do you care?
    B. We've had loads of bad luck over the years, this was our time
    C. You had plenty of luck in 99 and 08.

Those that are honest with themselves, ( which doesn't seem to be too many) know full well just how damn lucky they were to have prevailed. Ok, take it - I would. But please dont't insult everybody else's intelligence by trying to portray it as some great tactical coup. What a load of bollocks!

I get forums thanks, no need to get your panties all knotted. I just don't understand what you are trying to achieve, other than to provoke a reaction and to gloat which at best is childish in the extreme.
None of the Chelsea fans have come across for debate and discussion, THAT is the point in forums, actually.

So what if there are threads about Chelsea on our board? What does it matter to you? Are there Spurs threads on the Chelsea board? I ask as i have no idea because i've never been over there. I'd only go over there if there was a issue i wanted to discuss with Chelsea fans and get their opinion on. If i did go over there and saw anti-Spurs threads then who cares? Not me.

Please go ahead and start a nice discussion thread, i'd be very happy to contribute. But the gloating and provoking is boring and childish.

And if you are honest with yourself, it is mostly jealousy and bitterness that is flowing on the spuds boards these past few days.

I don't blame you for feeling this way but show a little more class.

I get your point but forums would be a little dull if we only discussed with 'our own'.

Banter and rivalry is what makes football great.

I've mostly seen optimism about next season on OUR board tbh. A bit of jealousy and bitterness, but "mostly"? Bull crap.

I'd say i read more of OUR board than you do too. If not, you must be Spurs obsessed.
