When can we start to question MON style (or lack of it) play?????

I don't think it is MON's style of play that should be questioned, but the abysmal passing ability that the team is displaying at the moment. if we keep giving the ball away like we are, then we are bound to be put under the cosh.

 

i think if we get to the point where we can have a fully fit squad and results are still disappointing (i hesitate to say poor because i think we will look back at these at the end of the season as four good points, in isolation), then it would be time to start to wonder.


gardner will hopefully add drive in midfield once bardo is back at right back, johnson will add some creation. i would also move rose to left wing and play colback at left back. lastly, sessegnon hasn't become a bad player overnight, he was one of the best in the league last season, so at some point he has to come back into a shred of form.


once we have these options our style of hitting teams on the break will start to pay off. an in form mcclean would have probably done much better on saturday, and anyone but vaughan playing his first ten minutes of competitive football all season running onto that cross scores it imo, which would have won us that match.


mon is too good a manager, with too good a pedigree, for people to be worried yet. at the moment things are disappointing, but not a problem.


that said, i thought we were rubbish to watch at the weekend, so i'd be gutted to have paid all that money to watch that dross.

 

I see a lot of 'it's 4 games' comments.

It's not, it's 12 games.

MON cannot be treat any different to any other manager, and when Bruce was vilified we all used his results in the back half of the previous season as justification.

Don't take this as me having a shot at MON, he retains my faith, and I'm utterly convinced we will win handsomely on Saturday, but the style we are currently playing will not penetrate the top 8 clubs in the country, who all have attacking managers, and quality in the middle to retain possession.

Now, if people insist that MON has, and will, always play this way, then I tell you what, we can forget European football via the league for the duration of his tenure, there are too many teams with the players to pull apart a team that sits back in the league, and that is without question.

That said, he has proven track record in the cups, and if we finished 12th and got Europa via a cup final, I'd be delighted.

I was fuming after Saturday, but I'm gonna hang onto my bullets until AJ is fit, and either one of Sess or McLean find some form.

 

Exactly...It's not the tactics at fault..I love counter attacking football when done correctly...What is concerning me is the amount of times we just gift the opposition the ball. And the fact that having watched our display the other day..I thought we robbed West Ham to get even a point.

And yes, some things are taboo. But to say someone looks like a *****phile is hardly "****ing kids" as you so eloquently put it. Breaking someone's heart could lead to them falling into depression and committing suicide, so you see, if I twist what you say I can turn it into something really bad aswell.
