From the main WhatsApp screen, bring up the App settings, then click on Notifications, you can modify it so you aren't notified.. just means you need to open up the App for any updates.. well, thats how it works on my Andriod powered phone..

You can just turn the notifications to silent so that you still get the pop ups but no noise.

But you can leave "Vibrate On" if you like that sort of stuff....

On iPhone you just hit the group at the top and you can mute for a period of time (8hours, a week, a year).

Messages come one through you just don't get notified

Possibly does work but they're already getting a notification for the quote. The system will only send one notification.
