To clarify, Marko and YWBK were not classed as apolitical because they don't have enough braincells, just our homo neanderthalensis docker friends from North Kent. So far, the only one I've got totally wrong is strachallister. Pretty good political predictions record as it stands.
Jerel, you must have been referring to the European elections of 2009, and yes I voted Tory. Next one's 2014
Elmo, you're a little closer than Jerel. Staunchly socialist, with nowhere to vote! Refuse to vote Blue Labour & hate tories with a vengance (s do 99% of Scots). Interestingly (for some), my politics lecturer at college was one Gordon Brown. Deffo a man with a mission, even all those years ago (1976/7).
UKIP, only party that talk sense, they called the Euro crisis out years before it occurred Sent from my Android using Tapatalk
Half right. Compassionate - yes, socialist - no. I'd describe myself as socially liberal and economically conservative. I don't like associating myself with a political party but unless they take a swing to the extreme right I see myself voting Conservative for the foreseeable future. I like the way the coalition tames the more extreme aspects of each party. Growing up in the Blair/Brown era I don't trust Labour.
bang on for me, think they are all upper class toffs who care little for the well being of the little man in the country and as such it makes little difference who is in charge as they will continue to look after the rich regardless what their party historically represents. Bank bailouts, need I say more?
I think you'd be surprised! I have a keen interest in politics as they affect my life and career! No need to stick me in the same category as marko, plus you dont know a thing about me!!
Alright, caaaaalm down! What are your beliefs then? I take it you're in some kind of union since you mention your career being affected?
Politics affects all our lives and careers ywbk. But shouting proudly about being a civil servant is a new low
No don't agree with unions, slightly hypocritical moaning about wages and pensions the going on strike n losing a days pay and a money towards the pension. But to be fair you're right I see that whoever in charge is gonna have a battle on their hands and previous regimes haven't exactly inspired me to sway to any party. One main positive with the current leadership is the tightening if immigration not too sure about privatizing a lot of government departments toll roads will be the future here very soon!!
Elmo Please state where I say that I'm a civil servant and where I'm supposed to have "shouted proudly" about this? And ur right it does affect us all that's why I do take interest in it.
Best story I've ever heard about my family was my Granddad driving into work when other people were striking, someone started shouting at him calling him a scab, so he got out the car, twated the guy in the nose and got in the car and carried on in.
If people want to strike let them if people don't want to strike let them get on but don't fall out with colleagues over it lol like that story tho si
Striking. ****ing ridiculous. It amazes me how the general paying public have to suffer a day without a certain service as a result of a decision which they didn't make.
It amazes me how the general public believe they should get a top notch service from a section of society who choose to provide their huge and talented skills for the public good while earning rather less than what they could earn if they went private. If you want the dregs of our society to end up as nurses and teachers - looking after you while ill and caring for and educating your children - then I suggest you and the politicians carry on slating public sector workers and reducing their pay and screwing them on their pensions. I would prefer to have the best people caring for me and my kids, and I would be happy for them to be paid a salary that allows them to buy a home and feed their own kids.
We pay top whack tax so we expect a decent service back, as for talented skills, I know several teachers and one deputy head master. The deputy head is on £80k a year and gets at least 10 weeks holiday a year and a very healthy pension. One of the teachers was chatting about her new "fox fur boots" cutting a long story short as the conversation went on she meant "faux fur" so you can imagine the initial confusion. I know a traffic copper, he is just taking retirement, he is 55 years of age and getting a lump sum of £100k and in the region of £30k a year pension. My father went into hospital 18 months ago for Parkinsons he got a bed sore in hospital which turned to gangrene and died in hospital. His care while there was atrocious - Overpaid and not talented enough... If these talented soles went private the paid holidays, the pension, the healthcare benefits that they would lose would hit them like a ton of bricks.
Me true blue..Dont always see eye to eye with Labour but hate tories, and see maggie as,.quite like the tory woman that called cameron a arrogant posh boy.
