442 seems to be a formation of the past these days, with all these different formations being used, such as 3 at the back , or false no 9's.
I certainly in favour of a team experimenting with formations ,but I guess it depends on the players that you have and the coaches and ultimately the manager.
NW has been in the game long enough to understand these formations better than most , so why is that he doesnt tinker much during the game? DJ was the same very set in his ways, no plan B.
I would love to see our strongest 4 4 2 out there against Sheffield Wednesday a week Friday. Maybe a diamond with Ralls or Patterson sitting behind Tomlin Hoilett left NML right and would defo play Glatz with Ward.
