All teams have problems with player availability throughout the season and there are usually a few points were key players are missing for long periods. It goes with the territory in the Championship, it's the same for everybody and it's the reason clubs want experienced managers like SB. He will be prepared for most eventualities and times like this are when he will really earn his corn.
I still don't get why everyone is saying Aluko's our best player, Elmo I see, bug Aluko has looked good with the ball bug his end product has been 0!
Sorry I was talking about since he came back in the 3 games I saw especially. I don't know what difference has happened since before.
I'm going to wait until the end of the transfer window until I make a firm oppionion. Yes we are three or four players short, but I expect us to do some business.
We have not lost two star players. Elmo looks like coming back and Aluko only has an injury meaning he will be back. The last time he was out through injury didn't we win every match? Massive, massive point for me is the intent of the Allams. So far they in for £50m ish. The accounts say the club are paying them back at 5% interest. Nice little earner whilst the club are able to pay. But it all goes tits up if we welsh on our promotion bid at this stage by not investing in the best league placing this club has EVER been in at this level at this stage of the season. If we let this slip then we will lose Bruce, and no-one can put a time limit on when we will be in this position again, if ever. So it's **** or bust IMO. Two huge weeks of wheeling and dealing to be done. I am 100% confident that we have the right man for this in SB. I can see a big player leaving the club, probably Chester, to bring in some readies and give us a bit of leeway on the wage bill. If that is to be the case then we must be looking at a couple of BIG signings. I just cannot see the Allams letting this position slip for the lack of another couple of millions pounds worth of investment. Trouble is that every other club also knows that. So its not a time to be negative, its a time to be positive in your support and with everyone you talk to regarding City. I had words with a City 'fan' today. He was questioning the owners ambition, yet he himself didn't go to he cup game or the Wednesday match 'because it was on telly' My point was why should anyone put any cash into the club if the support is on the decline? Its people like him that put doubt in the owners mind. Why should they bankroll the club when the fans don't appear to be on their side?
