We have not got a good enough squad to leave good inform players out of the first team, get a system that can mean as many of our better players on the pitch at one time and we just might not make such hard work of winning a game, one win at home so far is not good imo.
Rodders hasn't performed yet but I'd personally play a 60% fit Jack R than Gomez or Buckley. I hope they all come good but imo squad players only not automatic first teamers.
Gomez gets goals that's why he is in the side, I think Rodwell offers more all round but without Giacc and Alvarez hitting form Gomez is our most creative player. Yesterday only the post stopped him winning the game for us. Its a squad game and Gus has to find the right balance. I think once Giacc hits form Gomez will be out and Rodwell will come in. Buckley is a good signing, he is a squad player and has loads of potential. Lets face it when Giacc, Alvarez and Johnson are all fit Buckley is 4th choice. He is not bad at all for a 4th choice winger.
For me Gomez and us played much better when he became more involved after Larsson went off, so maybe the combination of him and Larsson is the problem. A Gomez Alvarez midfield could be tasty when we can afford to try it.
Hope the lad comes good and becomes one of the 1st names on the sheet but to be fair he hasn't shown enough to warrant the 10mill we paid
Bit worried about the defensive side of Gomez to be honest, I think he is at best a squad player and not a candidate for a regular staring place when we have a few more options up front.
Agreed. If his intention was to use us as a springboard to resurrect his career he's got a strange way going about it!
Rodwell played canny against Chelsea, made a point of watching him, his legs were gone on 60 mins, he was paggered.
Sounds like he's gonna play. Poyet added: “He has a great chance of playing tomorrow – not because it is against his former club Man City but, if the consequences of my decisions are right, this is the moment for him. http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport...rodwell-reaction-at-manchester-city-1-7027157
I was very disappointed in Alvarez v Hull. Looks to have no pace and is totally one-footed. Hope he was just having a bad day. Larsson has been playing so well but physically he must need a rest about now so that we can keep getting the new improved Seb.
