I take it the 1p5wich moderator is not very tall! I base this assumption on the fact that he is referred to as Hampy or Yorkie, but never Lancy
you lot said the gap between league one and championship was massive so to hear you say that isn't exactly a surprise is it! we have made some canny signings. these are not just players here for one season - they are here for a while. they are all young, they are all talented and they have every chance, certainly the best of the promoted teams, of staying up. i don't think it'll be easy but i would genuinely be surprised if we get relegated with this group of players. warky, i'd be interested to know who you think we should have signed. which players would you have wanted your mob to sign had it been them promoted instead of us?
From what I can see JWM, it appears we are getting a few whoppers this evening. By the way, you boys went very quiet when the St. John Ambulance was mentioned.
Supers who you sign doesn't interest me in the slightest but IMO looking at all your signings you will struggle next season and it will be a miracle for you to stay up. I think that is a fair assumption and not just based on tribalism! If you think you have assembled a team that can stay up then fair play for your optimism.
i've based my prediction on what i've seen of the players we've signed. they were all the best players at their previous clubs. they are all used to playing in winning teams, they are all great characters and hard workers and they all have talent. you've based your prediction on reputation rather than ability... oh, we also have paul lambert!
vaughan was at palace though kenny. hmm, me thinks warky hasn't seen pilkington play before! its not karl pilkington you know!! did you not see him totally destroy the arsenal backline in the cup last year? mind you, priskin did that last season... maybe that wasn't a great example!
I was just being awkward Super. Also though, I am not sure Bradley Johnson was Leeds best player. Good yes, but best?
Thats my point Supers! One great game doesn't make him a quality player. He will have to do it over 38 games and that sums it up about all your players. Of course they will have good games but over 38 games is different gravy altogether.
I'm heart broken you put faith in someone and they make a fool of you........................................
warky, pilks was outstanding throughout the season. all he did against arsenal was show just how good he can be. when i watched that game i remember wishing we were signing him! i've seen him a couple of times since and he was awesome and scored an absolute beaut in one of the matches. in the words of alan partridge, the lad has a foot like a traction engine. kenny, judging by leeds fans reactions its difficult. since he left they said he was rubbish but if you check out what they were saying throughout the season they all loved him and thought he was contender for PotY. i'd say he is possibly our weakest signing but he has always impressed against us and will no doubt be competition for crofts doing some of the donky work. he doesn't need to be a brilliant player, just consistent.
These lower league fans certainly have a chip on their shoulder, don't they. Foggo - I take it you're not impressed with most of our signings?
