OK, in answer to the thread title... Worst/best funniest you ask..?

Well two spring to mind that are different from those above. One is Andy Townsend desperately trying to tackle Matt Le Tissier twice. I'm sure I don't have to explain it, but such is Matty's legendary waltzing nature in his dribbling, that by the time he'd got past a couple of other defenders, ex-Saint Andy, was ready to have another, and ended up on his arse. Always a giggle.

The other one, only old fogies would know about. I only remember it because some old codger mentioned it and I remember seeing it on MOTD, back around the early 1970's. It was Saints playing Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea's legendary swamp of a pitch [think it's bad nowadays..?]. Saints were attacking and Micky Channon had the ball, and he was tackled by... I don't know, maybe Eddie MacCreadie, their LB. Micky sidestepped him, but Ron Chopper Harris was starting a slide tackle from about 20 yards away at RB. He slid the entire distance across the penalty area, and Micky sidestepped him also, to pop the ball into the net, with Harris still sliding. He got up caked in mud, with it all up inside his shorts and everywhere else. There was no longer any blue of Chelsea showing. Quite good. Might be on Youtube.

I have to say, i would nominate a certain French and Real Madrid captain. A true example of a supreme tackle in the final of the world cup. God i miss Zidane.

I am not sure if it happens for everyone, but mine came up with an advert to accompany it from the University of the West of England. The tagline being 'Together we can achieve great things'. Perfect!

Not exactly a tackle per se, but Phil Babb's sliding attempted goal-line clearance always brings a tear to my eye. (In more ways than one!!)

Actually, I saw the Shawcross>Ramsey tackle the other day and from then on I started looking at similar tackles including Haaland and Eduardo.

Hard to believe some of these tackles are so reckless!

Worst: Ben Thatcher against Pedro Mends.

It was horrific, not even going to post a video though I'm sure you can find one.

That is a shocker of a tackle , last week my mate got one as well he was so lucky his leg was slightly off the ground if his studs were in the grounds it would of snapped his leg in half , straight red and he is now out injured for about 2 months .
