I think that was in 1931 Rocky, before my time. I did go to the Wembley final against Bishop Auckland and the great Bob? Hardisty. We lost 3-1 before a crowd of 90,000.

Ron.. Did you know that it's raining money up our way? We've sold yet ANOTHER goalkeeper for what may end up being a million pound plus.

    Good times! :emoticon-0136-giggl

Some good banter going on here tonight. How much did your goalkeeper maker machine cost Jenny? Sounds like a good investment.

Haven't been around much tonight as I had to take my daughter to hospital for a check up. She was showing me how superb her show jumping mare was looking in the arena. Then she climbed on her from the railings and whoosh, 90mph round the arena bucking bronco, full of beans. How she stayed on for so long I don't know; no reins, no saddle, no bridle/head collar, no hat. The mare was getting faster and faster so she decided she better get off. Unfortunately the horse caught her and she had a nasty knock on the head. She was laughing about it all the way to the hospital saying the mare was playing and got excited. That is true as she is the most lovely natured horse you could wish for. Actually though it was very scary, she could have been killed.

On return from hospital Amanda went to see her and when she called her the mare's ears pricked and she gave her a big fuss. She was obviously worried and relieved to see her. Amanda has now gone to bed with a bruised head, whiplash and aches everywhere but otherwise fine. What a nutter.

Don't tell me Joe Hart came from Shrewsbury. What a class act he is. He looks young and cocky and oozing confidence. He's brilliant and must fill the rest of the team with confidence. Nothing better than knowing you have a brilliant goalkeeper.

Wow. Well done to Shrews. Did he ever play against Wycombe?

Incidentally we are almost up to 50 members. 47 actually. We have lost one though, johnmcn8789.

3 more needed. Who will be the 50th. Is this what Chairboy23 is waiting for?

    Loakesey/Armchair. Small world.

I know what you mean about the exchange rate armchair. When I moved here it was around 1.50 and at one point it had plummeted to parity. A nightmare scenario and it hit us hard as our pension was the only income. I had budgeted for 1.40 and a worst case scenario of 1.30. Didn't see that coming and can't see it ever going back up. Experts seem to think that if it gets back up to 1.25 it might be worth fixing a rate. Should have done that when it got down to 1.30 but didn't expect it to continue plummeting. Luckily our pension is linked to RPI so got a rise this year. It's actually cheaper to go and shop over in UK. Whenever my wife goes over she loads up with feed for the horses and for us.

I reckon you two must be closer to my age so you never know, we might actually know each other. Were either of you at the Tech/John Hampden or did you know anyone that worked at Equity & Law?

Even at such a young age, you could tell that Joe Hart was destined for the very top, his quality shone through. I believe the final transfer fee to Man City of 1.5 million is a L2 record (?).

There are very high hopes for Mason Springthorpe too, so don't be surprised to hear his name in 3 or 4 years. Not many 15 year olds command such a transfer fee!

Ironically both Joe & Mason went to the same school at Meole Brace, Shrewsbury. They must put something in the milk nowadays.. LOL.
