Thing is, people say “Ah Gao hasn’t invested personal money, he borrowed to buy the club” etc, etc. One thing you all overlook is, borrowed or from his bank, his personal wealth is on the line if it goes tits up. Or if I take out a business loan does it not count against me if I default?
I checked earlier and we had a spat in the thread Was more 50-50 than I remember, definitely wasn't everyone happy with it like it was claimed though.
Depends on the nature of the business, but unless you are operating as a Sole Trader, which Gao certainly isn't, you will not be personally liable for any debts the business incurs. So no, his personal wealth is not directly at risk. His business reputation certainly will be, but who knows how much he cares about that? How many times did Trump go bust?
The European nights were great, but even nowadays, most of the European places are tied up with the top 6: City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man U and Tottenham, if we're lucky then one of those wins the FA Cup and 7th place will get a slot in the Europa League... Is entry via fair play even a thing anymore? Plus, half the time when a team qualifies for the Europa League, they don't take it seriously...
Mind you, we've been in it twice in the previous three seasons, via league position too. Times and fortunes change...rather quickly.
Fair enough, so if we win the league and both cups, what excuse would they use to stick us in the Europa?
