The problem with Eaves is in the Championship I think he would have been better suited to a 4-4-2 with some help up top.

I also think the rotation of Magennis and Eaves hasn’t helped as it’s constant stop start. Players need matches to find form, if they hit form then they stay in the team barring injury or suspension.

McCann’s raffle ticket approach to team selection hasn’t enabled any players to find form or play in a settled team. Such is his ****wittery.

Hoping the nightmare will be over some day.

Yeah I certainly agree about the swapping of Eaves and Magennis. Neither has had a chance to build up any form all season. After Wigan beat us 8-0 Paul Cook talked about their settled squad since lockdown and how it had helped them build an understanding and so on. I can see why we tried to keep people fresh but like everything McCann has tried since coming here, it didn't work.

If Eaves had Campbell playing alongside him, he'd have done just fine.

Except they'd never have been on the pitch together in this wonderful, magically system.

I like Tom Eaves and I think he's well equipped to score a fair few next season. He just needs a gaffer who has faith in him.

And get shut of that ridiculous pony tail. Grow a beard and he'd look 100 times more menacing and perhaps get a bit of confidence and respect that he desperately needs because there is a player in there.

I honestly think most of the players we've signed are good enough, I just don't think they've been allowed to play the way they were when they were at their old clubs.

I said this before, but you don't go from having players like Da Silva, De Wijs, Long and Stewart being the first names on the team **** to being absolute dross unless there's a massive issue behind closed doors. I mean, we know there is, but I'd be willing to bet a large sum of cash that those same players will magically look good again under a new gaffer.

Interesting that Toral hasn't featured off the bench. It's almost as if he has an appearance-based contract clause that's triggered if he makes a certain number of league appearances. I'm sure it has absolutely **** all to do with the fact he's made 48 league appearances and that most likely the trigger is 50 games.

I think they need some experienced seasoned pro's around them. There's promise there, but lack of knowhow

The ****ing state of the EFL this evening... essentially saying that "We'll decide who we want to relegate sometime after the season has finished.".

I think Bowler has been a real disappointment - he could beat a man but his delivery was mostly woeful, didn't track back much either. Pennington, at 25, needs a club to sign him as a centre back and play him there - he tried at full back but, to put it mildly, he had some real roastings in that position. I expected better from Everton academy types tbf.
