That was another lousy performance from our team who are looking weaker every run out. Credit Norwich for having a good go at us but boy we are absolutely clueless in attack.
Morata out could be the best thing for him ,he's showing why the Spaniards got shot of him, so erratic and so wasteful, interspersed with moments of class. Michy again failed to impress so nothing new there, ditto Drinkwater. Bakayoko doesn't look good enough even allowing for year 1 settling in.
On the up side Kenedy looked good, as did Luiz apart from a turn off moment, and Ampadu must play more often. Hazard has been found out lately and runs but gets nowhere, Willian tries and tries but doesn't look committed to me.
Conte needs to step back and sort this out because nothing is working now just the same predictable dross game after game. Barkley might be good, Carroll ??
Still no new left back from the Board, no striker.
Oh well, onwards and upwards we go.

    VAR is certainly wrong.

As for the team, we are still too predictable and have been for weeks. At least for the weekend we'll have two wing backs who'll have had a weeks rest, I think that might make quite a difference. We're still crying out for a midfielder who can get up and down and has some technical ability, what we hoped Bakayoko would be....

We were dreadful tonight but I'd have happily put my life savings on us winning the pens, it was never in any doubt.

Willy is a solid GK. Only bright spot from that game.

Team looks tired. I just hope we had sacrificed both cups and focus on bigger 2

I'm with you there, with such a thin squad I thought we might have played lots of youngsters, particularly in the Cabarollo (or whatever it's called). FA still worth a go, but I won't slashing my wrists if we drop out of that either. Top 4 and the CL are top priority now. Not even Barca, or Real can win all 4 of their comps maybe Bayern and PSG can simply because there is no competition, but in the PL ,virtually impossible.

I think we should prioritise the "mickey mouse" cups, our only chance of glory this season!!.Looking forward
to seeing Berkley, couldn't be any worse than the two that started last night.

    How so?
If anything this game proved how much we need it.
It was a dive from Willian 100%, the **** starts dropping before contact is even made. Definite booking.
Shearer needs a smack upside his head and a pair of ****ing glasses.
Complete dive, definite booking, VAR's value vindicated.

There was contact at every angle. VAR wasn't needed for Pedros dive it was that bad but Willian was fouled.

There was contact yes, doesnt change the fact he dived.
Unless he physically couldnt stay on his feet.
You either get brought down, or you go down, Willian went down, so he dived.
Only reason there was any contact was because Willian left his left leg hanging down as he jumped over the players leg.

Apparently if you want him to play well you have to spell his name correctly, it's bArkley. Good luck to him he might be our last hope this season.

I'd like Conte to go back to a 3 4 3 and try Barkley and Kante in the middle, won't hold my though.<laugh>

Well Barkley is good going forward when he's on form so well worth a shot. Call me crazy but at some time I'd like to see us play 2 up front, Morata and Michy. Neither has what it takes to be a 1 up front forward in my view, but Morata has lots of tricks and Michy has shown he's a poacher. I well remember Jimmy Flloyd and Eider Gudjohnsen, and plenty said they couldn't play together.

I thought it was a stone wall penalty, Willian was looking for a penalty for sure, but it was gamesmanship rather than cheating, he suckered the defender into making a silly challenge. He missed the ball and caught the top of Willian's foot, a foul all day.

    Like a 3-3-2-2?

    Rudiger--Christensen--Zappa

    Barkley---Kante----Drinkwater

    Pedro---------------------------------Hazard

    ----Morata---Batshit----

Conte would never do that and that formation is wide open to get slaughtered.

Hazard doesn't trackback neither does bat **** lol

    I'd go more with:

    Dave--Christensen--Luiz/Rudiger

    Barkley/Drink/Willian--------------------Kante

    Zappa---------------------------------Alonso
    ---------------- Hazard---------------

    ----Morata---Batshit----

3 5 2 is Conte's favourite set up.Maybe no confidence in Morata and Batshit together.Wish he'd bring Tammy back and let him
have a go.I won't be happy if we sign Carrol.Talk of Crouch today FFS<laugh><laugh>

That's more what I was thinking.I understand that we can't get Tammy until end of season due to arrangement, so before we diss Michy, thought it worth a shot at trying something new. We could use Alonso and Moses/ Zappa as wide players too, though Pedro seems to me to be our most direct "small" attacker, plus he can score, so he needs more game time for mine. The way we're going, I'm ready to try anything different, can't be any worse !!!!
One thing I'd definately do is cross Carroll and Crouch off any list.
