If we were middling this season, we would hope to do better next season, but if we fail to go up after the start we've had, would we be able to repeat the present form next year. However, no way would I call for Nigel's head. What a ride we've had.
In all the years I've followed Saints, I think this is the most united I've sensed the various factions of supporters to be. There will always be moaners and the impatient, the people who lack faith, those who are quick to condemn, and le god knows, when you look back at some of the seemingly needless self inflicted wounds the Club have suffered, it's pretty much understandable. But even the blindest, or the most gob-open-in-neutral types, have stopped and seen what is happening. I think I can safely say that in all the years since 1966/67, I've never seen the Club quite so focussed on its goal. As far as 5 year plans are concerned, there were none, until Cortese/Liebherr turned up, as far as I can remember, and now we've already had a re-written 1st one, because we're ahead of schedule, and I suspect we might have that promised 2nd plan sooner than expected also. The coming years are arguably going to be the best ever for Saints fans. And if Cortese has anything to do with it, it won't be up for argument, because he won't let us fall short.
......and the bookies (not that I`m a gambler), now have us as title favourites. Win at home, draw away = promotion. Time to take the `Saints haven`t won away since August` monkey off our backs on Saturday. Come on you Sinners !
