I know, couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it, the entire length of the contract didn't even match the price of the iPhone 3GS when I got it, guess they were banking on me using more than 2000 minutes a month or going abroad regularly
Actually on second thoughts it is a 24 month contract, with the upgrade at 18 months. Just realised I got the contract July 2009 and it runs out this July.
Tbh guys if you go with O2 they don't charge you for going over your internet usage. I am currently with them, their customer service guys are awful, but for 18 quid, i have unlimited everything and free new blackberry.
I cannot fault HTC desire etc. I use it as a Portable WiFi for my laptop as well. But my next phone has to be an iPhone.
I've got a Nokia Lumia 800 and it's by far the best phone I've ever had. It has massive storage, the screen resolution is perfect, the battery life is great and the package came with suited me down to the ground. I get loads of internet (can't remember the exact amount but it's loads), 500 free texts, 250 minutes and 2 free swappables (Sky sports, things like that) for £26 a month on an 18 month contract. When I took the contract out, I also got a free Xbox 360 Which I then sold for £250! Immense!
I used to go out with a lass down Meadowbank Rd who's Dad wouldnt have a phone in the house. I used to ring the phone box outside her house and she would come out to answer it.
Actually the high spec HTCs are beyond any Samsung or iPhone. Cannot wait for the release of the HTC one x, quad-core madness.
I recently got the HTC Sensation which I'm very pleased with it. It's on a par with the Samsung Galaxy S and I-Phone4. The deal I got was free phone, unlimited texts, unlimited internet and 300 mins talk time for £20 a month. The lowest quote I got for the I-phone4 was £40 as it's (allegedly) set by Apple. Hope that helps??!!
Is that the one that works like any other tablet with touch screen for normal stuff, but if you want to write an email or something like that it's got a proper keyboard you can use to type?
I've got a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10i mini which is pretty good, and used several other Xperia phones and all seem to do the job designed for ie text talk and browse
I have just had my works phone upgraded to a Blackberry Curve touchscreen, and i must say it is a big disapointment, good for emails and work stuff but as a lifestyle phone it is pants. But at the end of the day it doesnt cost me anything.
Samsung Galaxy Ace - they don't run out and they are nice looking. I think they are about £149.99. Also I Phones are obviously a great option but the cost is high
Just got a 24month contract for my daughter from Tesco Mobile. Samsung Galaxy Mini with 200min, 5000 texts and 500MB of data for under £8. Phone arrived yesterday and its great - almost did not want to hand it over! It runs through your wifi router when at home (or any other hotspot like Starbucks etc) for free and when in this mode does not use allowance. Would recommend it. Edit: Just checked my notes and it was £7.50 so get 2 years calls etc plus phone for £180!
yes it is. a cracking bit of kit as a portable easy to use tablet/notebook. i also have desktop which i tend to use less since i bought it
ffs, it's so depressing reading all these deals when I'm paying the same and getting a lot less good job I would need more than my limits. iPhone's a bit out of my price range - I have a HTC Desire, £18 a month, unlimited texts, 400 minutes and 2 GB internet. I should add that I got the phone totally free so it will have been a lot cheaper overall than some of the iPhone deals mentioned above. My contract runs out in October though, and as I'll be a student by then I'm thinking about going on a fantastic SIM-only plan for £7 per month with Orange. 150 minutes, 500 texts and 250MB internet. The internet is obviously a massive downgrade but I'm sure I'll cope
