I would love to stay out of it carrabuh, but when I receive complaints from posters saying they can't enjoy the forum anymore, it would be a dereliction of duty NOT to step in! I only ask people to be reasonable to others, no harm in disagreeing provided it's done in an adult manner! <ok>

On this thread, and many others, there have been lively debates between the optimists and the pessimists with myself and others saying some people are too optimistic. I just went on the QPR forum and there is a thread on there just started headed ' 6 games left ' The OP sets out how they will win all 6 including games against Arsenal, Everton and Liverpool and survive on 42 points. The second poster agrees but the 3rd post urges caution suggesting they will only win 4 and draw the other 2 but still survive on 38 points FFS they have only won 4 all season!! I felt like asking for a pint of what they have been drinking. I have to say that I have never come across anybody as delusional as that on our board.

I disagree Carrabuh, as Dave is acting as moderator when he does so. IMO, this board is at it's best when we are talking about football rather than each other, but some on here prefer personal attack rather than discussion.

Carrabuh, I've done my best to defuse the situation, including unreserved apology for swearing. I also think (though happy to be corrected) that I've been pretty reasonable, a few posts in that thread aside. I certainly feel quite poorly treated and have had a couple of PMs (not from Dave) confirming as such, but understandably not wanting to be involved. However, Munky has now gone on a vendetta streak, reading insinuations that don't exist into posts of mine and has at no point acknowledged how offensive he's being/been.

I'm confident that I can ignore the abuse (no need to worry about me, I can stand up for myself! People can mock me all they like as long as they are prepared to back it up...) but when it's clearly ruining a perfectly decent thread started by someone other than the two of us, I don't think that's fair on the OP. That's why I asked Dave to step in because i presumably cant communicate with Munky. Tis isn't the only thread Munky appears intent on continuing the dispute. I didn't ask Dave to take sides and at no point has he said that he supports me - that's your interpretation.

Maybe you'd be so kind as to tell him to just drop it and explain that I've apologised given that he obviously thinks Dave is biased? I think that would be a relief to all. Not least him, because I am genuinely concerned about a guy who has posted virtually exclusively about me for several days since that thread. That's not normal. It's quite clear I made a mistake disagreeing so strongly with his opinions because I fear that pride has now been irreparably damaged. We live and learn.

Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse I looked at the thread again. According to one poster, who sets out his prediction of all results to come, QPR are not even involved in the battle against relegation. Apparently Reading are doomed with the other two Clubs for the drop being Stoke and Wigan. Norwich will finish 4th bottom and QPR 5th bottom. Now that is what I call real optimism!!!

Who is this qpr fan with an imagination, Tolkien, Rowling?

It must be Pratchett, he does both fantasy AND comedy

I agree Rick but at times the reasonable are overwhelmed by the opinionated and the noisy. This was a rational board with constructive debate but is deterioriating sadly.

Rob, my only personal disagreement with you is that your responses are about 4 times as long as they need to be.

Identify a single sentence in there that is repetition and I'll hold my hands up...

Lol our rob is a very clever chap as shown by his profession.

I personally think this forum has a great balance at the mo and thoroughly enjoy it...unfortunately I can't contribute as much as I'd like as my laptop is broke and typing on a mobile takes a while. The only member I am disillusioned with is Beefy but I'm pretty certain I'm not alone.

Is he? That's great to know. The rest of us, of course, have no profession, and are utterly stupid?

I like Beefy, he's taken a back seat recently which is a shame.
