I want to see Claude succeed - and one of the sound bites I like from him is that he doesn't really want to strengthen unless they are truly exceptional players. He wants to work with the current squad and get the best out of them. To me, that is what football is all about. Coaching. Not just keep buying in the hope that they eventually gel.

 

I regularly boo the half time relay (Forster is in the dressing room) as I think those kids don't understand what they're supposed to be doing. I blame Puel for this.

My thoughts aswell, we tend to but the better players from smaller leagues who take a bit of time to adapt. I don't really get the whole not showing ambition argument in this window either. Don't really see it as a lack of ambition if we don't spend anything compared to spending £100m trying to finish 7th (which is what Everton are apparently doing)

I think someone will come in even if on Loan. Puel has a job and reputation to keep and Will want to do well.

First reaction if we don't get someone, will be to stay away from this forum,
Second reaction will probably be a bit sick in my mouth
Thirdly will go out and buy some Dr Dre headphones, not just to keep up with the kids but to wear at full volume to every home game to drown out the moaning idiots that sit around me.

I'll be more surprised if we do sign someone significant. And if we have the same ownership in the summer, I'll be equally surprised if we go on a spending spree then.

 

Grim resignation that I will be sticking to 30 second highlight packages for the rest of the season. We have been desperately dull to watch. If something doesn't change then things will not be getting better.

Puel must find a better system, a consistent 11 and finally we need another striking option just like we did at the start of the season.

It wouldn't take much at all for a new player to match or improve our current strike rate.

Conversely if the board do sign 1-2 in January I would take it as good management. Get a new coach in, back the existing squad, see how things are panning out and address the problem areas.
