What would be the reaction if the takeover/investment fails to happen?

If we're skint it's because Bates has emptied the tills into his overseas accounts. All these supposed holding companies etc are nothing more than various fronts for the old crook. There has to come a point when he realises he can't keep lying to the supporters and promising them things he has no intention of delivering. That point may well be now. He's backed himself into a corner by appointing Warnock. It successfully fudged his way out of last season and the selling of our two best players while spending f&ck all, but putting Warnock in charge means he has to deliver this summer. Otherwise Warnock will quit, blame Bates for being the lying bastard he is, and then the supporters will basically boycott the club and it will cost him money. The advanced payment of future revenues is a classic example of milking every last drop out of the club before he leaves. There probably is nothing left in the coffers now, Bates has shut Warnock up with talk of the takeover. He either successfully flogs the club - including all the assets he secretly owns like the ground and TA, and sails off to Monaco, or the club goes into administration again, Warnock quits and the fans riot.

Another thought - perhaps bates has bled us dry(ish) and sees some better potential opportunities, like Pompey, Birmingham etc? Who knows with that bastard?

    Excellent <applause>

I would like Bates to sail off into the sunset and enjoy his retirement. If he has dementia he could still last a long while, but someone needs immediate power of attorney over his affairs. And the early stages of dementia means that sometimes he will be lucid and other times he will not even recognise his home.

This could lead to a delay in any decisions, or it could lead to his sons (does he have any?) taking over and taking immediate decisions, or his family selling up quickly. He has not looked well recently and we know he missed recent engagements through being ill. This could mean a wasted season for us.

Clearly, if Bates or his family were to sell up quickly, giving us a chance for the coming season, that would be really appreciated. If it drags on and we waste another year but do not get relegated, and then there is the sale, then at least we are still in contention in the Championship.

The times, they are a'changing, but we just don't kniow when that will be.

At least some more may take LUST seriously from now
