You are absolutely right here. If my support was based on the "morons" at the top then I would have stopped supporting the Tigers 40 years ago. Remember that Lloyd bloke....I still supported the team through thick and thin.

Unless people do have serious financial constraints, i have to say anyone who doesn't say one is surely not a true supporter.

I don't get how you can't support your team no matter what. The Allams aren't our team, them boys on the pitch giving their all are.

Let me put it this way. There are two types of people in this world. People that say that they piss in the shower, and dirty ****ing liars.
No, in all seriousness, say we get promoted next season, here's the two sets of fans.

"I didn't stick to my principles, but I watched and loved every game as the team I love fired themselves back into the top flight, and I can't wait for next season, where trips to the Emirates and Old Trafford beckon"

"I abandoned the club and the sport that I've adored all my life, but at least I stuck to my principles. I'm ecstatic that we got promoted but I again won't be returning because those Egyptian bastards are still in charge."

I know which one I'd rather be.

I don't understand these condescending people that appear to think they're better than everyone else simply because they 'have principles'. Bullshit.

I think the consensus is/was a lot of people were disgusted at recent events. I'm as yet undecided, I know it would kill me to miss Saturday afternoons.

I wanted to gauge reaction to the actions of the men at the top, I do think we will lose a lot of goodwill from fans, some for reasons unrelated, some for reasons stated earlier in the thread.

A lot of people I've spoken to seem to describe recent events as the straw that broke the camels back.

    Good on you DJ.

In solidarity I will not be attending any squash tournaments sponsored by the Allams.

Don't get me wrong, I am disgusted, but no-ones going to stop me going to see my team.
Granted I'm off to Uni in September but I should still make at least 15/23 home games.

I may be annoyed about these events but at the end of the day I support Hull City AFC and noone is bigger than the club.

23 is all home games, I'm sure you'll have hangovers that will chip away at that figure of 23!

    15/23 meaning 15 out of 23!

Although your point still stands - hangovers will chip away at even 15 <laugh>

You see if I had an objection to what's happened on principle then I'd rather be the second. It's easy for a person to stand against something they don't agree with if it's convenient for them, it's more a measure of the person if they're prepared to stand by their morals when it means making a sacrifice. I'm trying to find out who it was, but someone said something about a man who abandons their principles in the face of adversity never having been a man in the first place. Anyone who's doing history might be able to tell us who it was because I'm sure I remember it from school, although I could now end up finding I'm quoting Hitler or Stalin so I might prefer them not to.

If people think Barmby has been unfairly treated by the club and don't want to renew their tickets whilst the Allams are here as a result then that's up to them. I said in another thread in a similar situation I would go to away games instead if I wanted to continue supporting the club whilst objecting to the owners.

Having said that, I haven't seen anything from anybody involved that disagrees with the theory on this situation I posted the other day, and the underlying priniciple there was that there was some incompetence going on, but nothing malicious so I'm not sure where the principle issue would actually come from. Sacking him for the comments may be harsh, but at the end of the day the club is their business and if an employee is going to be questioning them publically (and I can see where in the comments they would feel that) then it's up to them whether they replace him or not, and it'll be up to the courts about whether they have to pay him off or not.

In all honesty Ricardo I take my hats off to people who stand by their principles and make that sacrifice, although I can't say under current circumstances that I would ever consider it.

I was really aiming my point at certain people who appear only to stick to these principles so that they can take the morale high ground and look down their nose at everyone else, and also ridicule anyone who renew their passes.
