A beast of a player is Gareth he was physically strong even as a kid .An all action and highly skilled footballer with a wonderful left foot, proud he played for us so no he does not deserve a single boo as far as i am concerned.I only hope he has a rare quiet day on Sunday.
Used to really like him for his humility and wasn't at all upset with him for leaving when he did. Unfortunately I think his attitude has changed. He's one of the worst divers in European football and he seems to be more arrogant than he was. These two opinions cancel each other out and thus i'll be completely impartial in terms of reception.
I won't be at the game, but he'd be one of the players I would actually go out of my way to applaud. As I recall, at no point did Bale ever hand in a transfer request or publicly ask to be transferred. For all I know he would have played out the last year of his contract (not that it mattered since Saints need the money and had to sell him). Probably not, but we don't know. But the important thing is by not complaining or going public, Saints were able to get the full value of 10 million pounds for him (or actually, 5 million pounds and Tommy Forecast but you get the idea). That fee was the same price that Saints were offered during the January transfer window by the same club, and the Saints actually accepted it. Bale stayed for half a season, really for no other reason than to help Saints get promoted, and he was vital in getting Saints to the playoffs. And he got hurt in the playoffs as well, could have easily prevented a move and set him back.
If he does something good, I will applaud him, if he cocks something up I will just laugh a little louder than usual, no point in booing him, it always has a reverse effect, he will just try harder to spite us.
