I think that’s a huge risk for Toby to do that. Eriksen definitely could but Toby will be 31 by then, psychologically that’s an age that even big clubs would be cautious about throwing huge money at.

You don't think they'll be offered a big fat signing fee at Tottenham? Ok, it's Levy, so it's not a given, but I think it's quite likely.

Not as fat as a club who are getting world class players for free. If that was the case levy would have already handed over the keys to his house to keep them.

The only thing stopping that will be if he picks up an injury.

Toby is still one of the best in the league and 31 isnt exactly ancient (i expect him to move this summer though) and he is a free signing.

Just think arsenal paid 20m on a thirty year old sokraris

Not ancient but I can’t see a team saying “hi, here’s a £5m-£10m signing bonus and a four year contract on £180k a week”. Agree though, I think he’s a goner this summer.

Yeah but Arsenal were stupid and desperate and that didn’t pay off in the end. Can’t imagine their finances are too great at the moment, they’ve spent big fees, pay big wages and still not got CL football for the third season running. To top it off they’ve lost their best CM for free.

Yeah if they aren't sold this summer then I think both are more likely to run their deals down. Real might be the only big team interested in paying £50m or whatever for Eriksen now, but if he is "free" then I'd imagine most teams would be wanting to have a chat with him.

If they do stay for their final year and Spurs are performing really well then they might sign a new deal at some point during next season, but I can't see them signing a deal this summer.

Too much for what they'll get in return if history is repeated.
