I can see them winning it next year tbh, think City could drop off slightly but fancy Liverpool to get a similar total.
I agree with Milk...if you can stay injury free you got a chance...thats my lesson learned from this season when it comes to us.
Spurs are already worth around $2b and the stadium is going to be full for around 25 football matches a year, 2 NFL matches (8 or more if we get a franchise), at least 2 rugby matches and loads of concerts in the summer. It was sold out for showing the CL final on screens.....and they've been selling more than £1m of food and drink at each match. If the NFL franchise happens that will double the value on your logic. Levy has played a blinder with the stadium. If Arsenal had done something similar with the Emirates, Spurs could never have caught up.
Doesn't it depend on how that debt is structured. The original stadium debt may be at 3%, but the overspend could be at a different level. Levy may want to try and clear the additional debt quite quickly?
That’s not what the article says. They’ve all got the same story he gave to a Danish paper. He may leave if “an exciting opportunity” comes along. He may also stay and sign a new contract, as he also says in the article.
Sounds like he definitely wants out “I have the deepest respect for everything that is happening at Tottenham and it would not be something negative to stay. But I have also said that I would like to try something new.”
And he also said. ‘ if nothing pops up then why not stay at Tottenham’ That sounds like it depends on who’s interested and if he’s interested in them.
It’s unlikely that ‘nothing pops up’ though in reality. Quality player with 1 year left on his contract. I’d imagine there will be several clubs looking to secure a bargain.
It depends not just on who comes in for him, but if he wants to go there. He’s not going to leave unless it’s a quantifiable step up. Then whoever comes in has to negotiate with Levy. And nobody will be getting a bargain, you can count on that.
Spurs fans have more or less known Eriksen will be off, likewise Toby since the start of last summer when it was obvious they weren’t signing new contracts. Players who want to stay sign new deals, basic principal. Thankfully we have Toby’s departure part-covered with Dave Sanchez. Eriksen’s the one we can’t directly replace but we should focus on bringing players in who can help us change our system and try moving forward from there.
He’s got one year left on his contract. Even Levy knows he’s in a weak negotiating position on this. He’ll still fetch good money but nowhere his market value with 2-3 years on his contract.
