What will Brian be thinking right now? Interest from a premiership club, albeit a slightly ailing one at the present time, possibility of better wages (probably) and a club steeped in tradition and history. And already in top tier, and a difficult but by no means impossible job this season. Or stay at Reading? The totally known equation, loved by players and fans, not to mention the club itself, a fine chance to take Reading up even if it's notoriously difficult to get out of this division. The chance to be an equal, historically speaking, to 'Sir' Steve Coppell ... What do you think HE'S thinking right now? But quick, answers before any announcement is made!!
It's a tricky one. On the one hand, he has a strong squad, a set of fans that love him, and a genuine shot at getting into the Premier League this season or next. On the other hand, Wolves are a good team and a decent manager should be able to save them, they'll pay more than Reading, and if he leaves he will no longer have to work with Nick Hammond.
Yep, last night I admit I was pretty nervous - nail-biting stuff. Now 3 and a 1/2 year stability is what few clubs offer; this would take Brian's service up to nearing six years ... and currently only FOUR English league managers have made the 6-year mark!
