I think its fair to say we have done the well done Newcastle to death now, its getting more like their board than ours, so lets get back to Sunderland and the weekend.

The question is, what will Bruce do, at first sight it between 4-4-2 and 4-5-1 but this is Mr Bruce and we all know how he likes to use his master tactician qualification so who know what might change.

We can be sure, well as sure as you can be with Brucie, that we will have Westwood in goal and Bendy up front, well to be fair we can say..

WESTWOOD
XXX..TURNER..BROWN..RICHARDSON
XXX..XXXXX...XXXXX..XXXXXXXXX
XXX..BENDTNER

Right back will it be O’Shea or Bardo, if fit I suspect O’Shea.

Larsson and Sess will be there but formation will decide position.
I suspect we will see Colback but will he stick with Vaughan and will Catts or Gardner be drafted in
Wickham if 4-4-2 but Gardner I suspect if 4-5-1.

Lots of assumptions because on this one it really will be after 2 on Saturday before we know.

What would you do?
 
i still don't think he should change the team from ther last 2 games

when we drew 2-2 with them 2 seasons ago we had a realy go at them and had Bent and Jones up front!

Spot on, Cana really got amongst them that day. They're none too happy if someone doesn't show fear, and gives them a problem or two. Unchanged team for me as well, but I don't think he will.
 
I think we have to go 4-5-1 at Man U. I would start with Sess in midfield and have Bendtner up front on his own.

Larsson- Vaughan- Sess-Richardson

I just think Richardson is far too attacking, Ok at home or against the lesser sides away, but you cant really have that at LB away to Man U, yes you could say he might relieve the pressure, but i think we will be under the koshe for most of the game, especially after their last home game, so we need to have a solid defending back 4 for me.

We also need a threat up front, so play the 2 strikers with sess in Midfield but supporting them.

I still cant see us getting anything from this one, I just hope we keep the score down, we havnt been turned over yet, and our +2 GD is like an extra point atm, so dont want to see that obliterated, but we shouldnt park the bus either, get at them early and their confidence may just evaportate (or it could just piss them off more) who would be a manager eh.

I like that team Steve, a certain kiss of death, and it means we would have Richardson and Bardo to double up in defending.
 
Generally when we play the manure type of teams, we would expect to get overrun, this of course may be the case again this season especially as they want to wipe out the 6-1 result. However although manure continue to be excellent up front, their midfield and especially their defence and keeper are vulnerable, so there is an argument for playing two strikers especially if they realise they have to track back.
 
We should play 4-4-2, nothing to loose is there as we expect a hammering but we may as well go down fighting! Howay Lads.

Have to bear in mind this is United's first home game since the 6-1 drumming.
 
Your manager will almost certainly either play 5 at the back or Cattermole sitting just in front of the back 4.

With the exception of our noisy neighbours, most teams that come to attack United at Old Trafford end up getting ripped to shreds, and with all due respect Man City have a vastly superior squad than you do right now.

If Bruce is sensible he will deploy a damage limitation formation in the hope that you can shut out us Champions and maybe sneak a goal on the counter attack or from a set piece. I know for a fact that we will set out to exploit your full backs, so you'll need to double up in those areas for most of the game as Evra and Jones/Fabio will get forward all game. I think the game will come too soon for Ashley Young and Giggs to return from their injuries, so the midfield should consist of Cleverley, Nani, Anderson and Rooney.

I was going to have a bet on a complete mauling being dished out but PaddyPower are only offering 5/2 on Man Utd scoring 4 or more so not even worth it.

Five at the back? we haven't got five defenders ... unless he brings Laing into the team. O'Shea defo out!

Keeper and back 4 pick themselves, so its:

Westwood
Bardo, Turner, Brown and Richardson

Midfield? He will stick with 4 he has had in the last two games, BUT, will he play two up or one? My money is on 'one' and it will be Bendtner

So who will be the extra man in midfield? if he wants to attack whenever possible he may move Whickham to the left and give Sess a free role supporting Bendy from deep, OR he will park the bus and add either Meyler or Catts to sit in front of the back 4

So I think its either:

Larsson-------------Sess----------Whickham
-------------------Bendtner-------------------

or
-----Meyler/Catts----Vaughan-----Colback---

I'm all for 4-4-2, but surely common sense tells you that we would get mauled if we tried that system at Old Trafford..I would definitely play 5 in midfield with Bendtner as the lone striker, and that should give Sess more freedom in an attacking midfield role...If he were to play this system, I don't think it would be negative.
