With the EBD ban and more durable Pirelli's, he should be a lot closer to Vettel, but I think even he knows deep down that Vettel is the better driver. On top of that, the RB8 will be designed to suit Vettel's driving style as he is the team favourite. Webber doesn't really have a chance. When Webber caught up to Vettel last year in Silverstone, Vettel told the team to "be wise" and his engineer responded with "we understand what you mean and we're controlling the situation" - then Webber is told to maintain the gap. I think that says a lot about Webber's title chances at Red Bull. He's not going to win the championship but I'm hoping to see an aggressive Webber who produces memorable overtakes for us, refuses to obey team orders and ends his career on a high.
I don't think I'd argue that Vettel isn't the better driver, but I also don't believe that the gulf between the two last season is representative of their true performance gap. I don't know if that was down to the team focusing all their efforts on Vettel, Webber simply under performing or a combination of both. Either way I hope to see him being more competitive this season, but I feel he'll not get the backing to do so. I may be wrong in that belief though.
