    I'm that old I can't fooking remember <laugh>

    I'm pretty sure it was "Madness, my girl" . But "embarrassment" rings a bell too.
    I can't remember the first album.
    I was into the police and ska/two tone.
    Madness, specials , the beat, selector etc. and then the mod revival.
    Think it might of been the police, regatta de blanc, quickly followed by The Jam, Setting sons.

    I was just hooked on the Jam from then on back in the day.

    I was working in the school holidays for a painter and decorator ( who was the son of a friend of my Gran’s). I got £5 a week and I’m sure the album cost £4.19.11. So that was my first week’s wages gone!

    I bought this album and hid it from my ma, on the same day also bought J Geils Band Centrefold and she bollocked me cos it had tits on it I hadn’t even noticed ffs, the lad I was with bought Judas Priest Breaking the Law and hid that from his ma. Woolworths in Durham.

    Dreamer - Supertramp. Still makes the hairs stand up when I hear it.

    First album was one of those ****ty Top Of The Pops albums, where all of the songs were sung by studio artists rather than the original singers.
