The writer of this article needs to stop talking out of his arse. Nigel did magnificently for us and conducted himself with great dignity when NC sacked. Nigel is his own man, and I cannot imagine for one moment that he would not have walked, had Cortese try to dictate who he should pick. Think the Don is a bit of a dictator, but cannot believe he is that involved with team selection?
It is possible that Nigel wasn't closely involved in signings...I believe it's always been clear that there is a department that deals with this. Nigel had input as did others. Modern football has changed and managers don't hire players on their own. However, although Nicola may have spoken to Nigel after a game, I cannot imagine him having any direct input on team selection.
Suspect a bit strained, but both Nicola and Nigel are civilised people. Mauricio would be oblivious and just smile a lot. I did feel for Nigel...like seeing your ex with the new love for the first time.
Nicola is a businessman. He made a business decision. We move on and draw a blue line under it. Glass of the house red or white guys Nicola, On another note can we loan Chaplow, Richardson, Fox, Mayuka, Lee, Sharp and a few others next season. Adkins will have been his usual self and I doubt missed an opportunity to improve next season's Reading.
