Started as a goalkeeper when I was younger, but moved to CB and then because I wasn't that tall to RB. I'm a player that would get a bad reception at Elland Road because I don't often overlap (think Tom Lees playing at RB). I have little pace, which means I make up for it with slide tackles - which always take the player as well as the ball! Decent technical ability, with the odd bit of skill surprising a left back. - had a fight with an opponent? No, I tend to keep my head down, but I've certainly pissed people off with a poorly timed tackle. - been sent off? No but yellow cards definitely. - intentionally dived? Never. - scored a Worldy of a goal? Scored a cracking volley once just inside the area. - played against anyone famous? No. - have any dirty tactics to put off the oppo? Just going in strong to ever tackle but nothing malicious. - ever played at any professional stadiums? A few semi professional ones. - ever played with or against a past or present leeds player? I've played against a few of the current academy players.
Was a nippy left winger, with a good left foot for crossing, shocking with my right, but as I got older found myself playing centre half or left back, still got a wicked left foot....
Not a problem,i was a rugby union lad, however football-wise i was ****e and at school ran around like a headless chicken,:-(
Started out life as a right wing. Quite quick, but very light weight. Moved to RM & then RB. Still quick enough, & subtle enough to get a toe in when required, but never booked or sent off. Given that I was bigger than most people I played against, never got into fights, & managed never to get sent off. Little angel really!! Briefly played semi pro for Catford before a career ending injury. Only other claim to fame was playing in front of 4,000 in north Khartoum.but Can't recall playing against anyone famous but not sure
Hey Josh i thought the Brisbane team was the Brisbane Roar? Like so many here i played DM, more because of refusal to let the team have the ball and a defensive mentality than outright skill. Got sent off once for fighting, 2 match ban.
Brisbane Roar is the proffessional team. I played for Brisbane City who are semi-pro and a lot of the players end up playing for the Roar. I know a couple who got through but most have failed
Played at the shay on FA Cup final day in 2002 (doesn't get any bigger than that)! Got hammered 4-0, got given the away dressing room and it was only 7-a-side meaning the pitch we played on was far too small based on how quick the pitch was. Used to play RM in 7-a-side but moved to RB/CB in 11-a-side. Remember scoring 4 in a game once and then was criticised for not staying down in the penalty area after being fouled and therefore not getting the penalty. Also remember getting moved to defence in U7's as i was tall and the only one who could kick a ball, and instructed just to hit it long every time (typical English mentality).
