Chelsea away, then Arsenal at home
Is how the next two are queued,
Hope for a win, but expect to lose
Is how they ought to be viewed

Realistically, just one point from each
Would be an enormous gain,
But that said, the chance of a surprise is there
Always, and that must be our aim

But to go thinking, that without a win
Against such illustrious foes,
That all is lost, for our beloved team
Is nonsense as far as it goes

They´re in a league of their own as we know
Along with three or four more,
For us the priority comes later on
With the likes of Stoke at our door

But to play well in these next two games
Would help to put us in good heart,
For our visit to Villa, with you know who
Where a win could just prompt a kick-start

And when the first comes, if it were to be there
How satisfying it would be,
In front of P. Lambert and old Cully too
The best sort of theatre to see

But for these next two, when our patrons play
In front of the dear Yellow Army,
I hope expectations are not screwed too high
So that they end up going barmy. OTBC

Fingers crossed jarold, but rather fear the mountains may be slightly too high to traverse, anyway would much prefer to have our first win to be at Villa Park. ;)

I can never bet against city so hope they might just steal a win against the Gunners prob to much to expect more than a point at Chelsea and a Villa will be magic

Hi RBF, unlike Charles Dickens, there are no Great Expectations from me, providing we play well and let both sets of Londoners know that they've been in a match will be good enough for me! <ok>

I hope the players aren't thinking like us, or they'll be defeated before they get on the pitch. Come on, guys - have some faith!

Two losses with improved performances, followed by a loss at Villa before our next hope of points.Simple really.

Sounds great - and is the Villa defeat also replete with improvement, or just an everyday loss?

Not intended as a downer vietnam, just trying to keep folk´s expectations, especially for the next two games, at a realistic level. Shocks and surprises do happen so you never know, I´ll be hoping there´ll be one, or even two.
