Once ordered Tadpole Tits On Toast at Heston Blumenthal's restaurant ... he came out himself and apologetically told me it was no longer available ...

... they'd run out of bread! :emoticon-0140-rofl:

How are you on roll-mop herrings?

It's not the sort of thing I would buy these days.

I have done, it's a case of it's on the plate I'll eat it. I think a lot of this **** comes down to where you buy it from, I've had oysters and they were fine but that's because my lad bought them and knew what the quality was like. I like most shellfish as well tbph, but I'm always apprehensive of muscles after being food poisoned by them once, and it's certainly not a pleasant experience, but otherwise they are nice lol. Roll mops, give me a few beers and i'd be too peckish to complain.

Just the thought of jellied eels and all this pie and liquor with mushy peas is not for me.

yeah, never tried.
Same with things like cockles etc…..why??

look horrible.

Fresh cockles are ok, but a bit bland, taste of nothing really. Sort thing I would eat but I don't actually see the point in them.

Funny though when looking at people's breakfasts the other day, I must be the only one into tinned tomatoes with my full english. I will eat baked beans, but again it's something I'm not really into and I only ever eat Heinz lol....think I must be a fussy bugger.

But all this stuff I would eat if I'm starving, except for cheese, that's just never happening.

I remember when the shellfish man use to come round the boozers on something like a Friday night. I'd generally have something, well pubs weren't really into food back then, some places might do ham rolls etc.

ahhhh, fish man.

“any crabs on your cock?” Would always be the shout.
Or “you have any muscles for the skinny lad”

I'd go this ingredient list for a full English.

Essential;

Bacon
Sausage
Eggs - fried preferably, but scrambled also acceptable (Poached even)
Black Pudding
Mushroom(s)
Beans
Toast (or fried bread)
Mug of tea

Variations;

Tomato - grilled preferably
Coffee

Abominations;

Hash Brown
Chips

Add the toast to variations and I agree with all that

Fried bread goes in the essentials tho

Tinned full plum toms and beans in a little dish, other than that I fully back that.

An Ulster fry is a different animal to a full English. Same with a full Scottish, some subtle difference.

but my first veg roll was a surprise, expected some bubble and squeak.

The Scottish is good, flat sausage, potato cake thing, and a bit of haggis even. Very good.

Had had an Ulster fry and couldn't finish it. Nice, but loads of stodge. Soda bread toast is great though.

I make my own now cos you can't get it here anywhere.
took me ages to find the actual recipe and a few mishaps until I got the ratios right but I make a mean vegetable roll now
