Just been eating some of these with a cuppa, from Aldi, Can't remember how much they were, cheap but quite nice...

I've just watched supermarkets war, a Doc about the rise of Aldi and Lidl through the 90s., their business plans and ways to keep shopping cheap....

For cheap choc chips, they are loaded with more chips than I would expect for a biscuit that price.

I picked up some thick smoked bacon in there today, can't bear that thin sliced stuff, £1.59 it would be a couple quid in any other supermarket, unless you multi buy.

Bag of wine gums around 50p.....normally £1 - £1.50 any where else of the same quality.

Even got some veg from there, although don't normally get veg from aldi as it don't keep fresh very long. 29p for a bag of carrots ffs!

Mate i have a discount card from work, but i still shop at Aldi...

It was an interesting show..we all know they don't have the range, and not packed with overpriced brands.

The segment about the middle aisles was interesting...Both Aldi and Lidl pack their middle aisiles with random ****, and for good reason...Interest.
