Meant to be going out tonight. Don’t really want to. Suspect I had two too many last night. Plus gargling two double jacks.

Think I’ve got tonsillitis. Got daggers in my throat it feels like. Can’t go to the doctors as they may cancel ramming a camera up jacksy next week.

Just thought I'd mention I've been cooking for my daughter over the last 2 months. Let's just say she's always been a little on the portly side but I can see this going from being cute to becoming a problem. I've managed to cook for her a weekly diet of beef and broccoli with brown rice, chicken and cauliflower rice, quinoa and kale salad with lentils and edamame, and roasted lemon fish and asparagus. It's no more than 1500 calories per day including breakfast which is usually a smoothie of either rolled oats or penaut butter with banana or strawberry with a touch of cinnamon and raw honey. I had put spinach in those smoothies but she said I'd crossed the line and threatened to disown me so I've backed down, but tbf she's well into the whole thing - good girl.

While admit i often do more than 1500 in a meal,, if she is as you say 'portly'. That's still quite a bit, especially if she ain't doing anything else.

It's 1500 per day Comm, in total. I used one of these online calculators based on age and weight to get the figure, anything less becomes a crash diet and I weren't doing that. She's lost nearly one and half stone so far which is encouraging.

I always find mate, these studies are bollox. It also depends on what your activities are, metabolism etc.

There is no set guide mate. But it's working for her, that;s what counts

    Fair point <ok>

Without derailing the thread, I used to go running with her 3/4 times a week for about 2 years. The trouble was she always saw it as a chore. Even though I could see the difference, she was never motivated. Now the healthy eating is working she's much more enthusiastic, just cut out all the rubbish she used to snack on herself. As the weather turns in a couple of weeks, we'll go running again and I think she'll appreciate it more now. I just want her to get that mental attitude right in her early teens, then hopefully it'll be with her for life.
