We call that foot soup (trotters) "pai" or "karavare". Its slow cooked with spices and eaten with naan bread/roti. Meat isn't chewy if you cook it for ages. The secret is to ensure they singe any fine hair off the trotters with a blow torch Its very hearty and comm you'd be able to do a long shift in it as its filling and keeps you full. Not good on heart conditions A lot of Asian takeaways do it and a dish called nihari as a special Saturday or Sunday when its gone its gone thing. And if goes quick
You know me mate' ill try owt. My intake today. After 3 cups off coffee and a Big rig rib burger (don't count) A foot long subway, meat feast. that was it, not much of a lunch. So as i was out and about, and then chomped through.a 3 pack of turkish delight, a 3 pack of rum and biscuit yorkie, and a big bag of munchies, on the way way home. Then tonight has been pitiful, a chicken and stuffing large butty, and about 10 cans. **** diet.
Maybe just the way they do it here. We actually had a guy come in with his street stall to cook and serve. Think they tend to use all the stuff from between and around the toes hence the chewiness! Certainly gives the soup a great flavour though. A lot of the dishes here have South Asian influence, particularly if they originate from Aceh/North Sumatra. The gulai is an Acehnese dish. Guess I like that most as it is so similar to a lot of the curry dishes I can get in Rusholme.
Comm - will get my Mrs to cook it and invite you round for Dinner. We can talk about footie and our respective teams performances this year!
Or i'll just tie you to a tree in the garden, while i sip your wine, talking chit chat to your lovely asian wife?
I see lots of similarities, even the bread/roti is basically what we call roomaali roti (roomaal meaning handkerchief). Albeit yours looks more intricate
A large stottie, with cheese'n'onion filler (instead of butter) loads of chicken, and an unhealthy amount of sea salt
They’re normally good. Had some weird meatballs tapas here in Spain, was like a mix of beef an chorizo. Lovely they were.
Pizza was ducking awful. The pizzeria by my sister is the BEST pizza I’ve ever eaten. Just been to a Spanish one. It’s the highest rated restaurant in the whole resort. It was ducking awful. Worst pizza ever. One thing I love is pizza. This pizza is ****. Had a diavola worst one ever.
