Made an impromptu 'paella' for tea.

Bearing in mind I've not got an actual kitchen to work in.

One small chorizo sliced and fried in its own lovely paprika infused oil. One onion, also softened in said oil. A tea spoon of very lazy garlic, a table spoon of tomato puree, a pack of sliced 'spicy' chicken breast, a cup of frozen petit pois and half a cup of hot water. Heat.

Add to that a microwaved pack of West Indian rice and peas and a microwaved pack of rice with roasted veg and that's more or less it.

Was bloody lovely actually. Will have what's left over for tomorrow's dinner (lunch to you uneducated southern **** wits).

Washing it down with a Tanquaray 10 and slimline fever tree with a wedge of lime.

    Choice.

A few weeks ago that would have been a four course fine dining experience at Le Gavroche.

  9. I dine at quite a few places, Stan.

    Prezzo, Harvester, KFC, The Hut...

I’m quite cosmopolitan in my habits.

I’ve got my eye on a nice little Harry Ramsden’s for tomorrow.

  11. I jest, of course.

I've been in training quite a bit, over recent weeks.

    Yeah.

I'm going for the South West "Pork Pie Eating" championships, next year.

We got a set of them in various sizes as a wedding present from someone we know who lives in the British Virgin Islands. They’re beautiful. Pottery, hand made and painted. We use them as underplates.

Went out last night and had the most perfectly crispy pork belly I've ever had. It was truly stupendous.

It came with mash, onion gravy and some green veg. Had four pints of Exmoor Gold to wash it down.

Sounds nice. I probably would have got double mash and extra gravy and skipped the veg malarky
