    I had scallops in a chorizo sauce starter, rib of beef main, basque cheesecake for afters.

    All top notch.

    Going for a lazyish day today, given the glorious weather ... chicken and button mushroom linguine or tagliatelle in a madeira / white wine, cream, fennel and lemon verbena (from our little herb garden) sauce...

    Never made a slow cooked beef curry before so going to give that a go next weekend. Mrs luv away with her parents so good time to make a hot one.

    Got it from lidl..dunno price as bought it with loads of other stuff.

    No lidl near me so stuck with Morrisons/Tesco or Aldi.
    Aldi is good for fresh meat and fish but always rammed which puts me off a bit.

    I managed to spend £180 in Lidl yesterday.... With no booze. Didn't think that was possible. Had to go for a beer garden cider to recover.

    Missus reined me in yesterday - didn't fancy my more experimental herb mix - so ended up with Chicken and Button mushrooms papadelle in a marsala, white wine and cream source with fennel leaves, rosemary and parsley ... was really good tbf...
