Yeah, thought you were there. I definitely wouldn't recommend there. They (the Holes) have taken over a few places over the last few year and it's over priced crap mostly. And I bet your coffee was ****e. You should have gone to Square Peg!
I love Square Peg. The coffee was good actually but something very different from when I've been to Secret Beach Bar before so that explains it.
They also took over, and basically destroyed, Castellamare at Bracelet Bay. Same thing, piss take money for half portion breakfasts. Paid best part of £25 for 2 sausage and bacon ciabattas and a crap coffee when they first opened and haven't been back.
The Secret did really well in Covid, had that cabin at the end and knocked out churros, which was a pretty novel thing to do. Cycle up, coffee/hot chocolate and churros, cycle back. There are just way better places out there now. But they are the only real beach front place, so I suppose they pay a fair price on rental there tbf.
Very nice with the bacon but as I just posted you also need the laverbread. You're supposed to fry the cockles in the bacon fat and they are lovely done that way.
