Was thinking of cooking one of my faves where I take the sausages out of the skills and make a bolagnaise style thing and have with pasta. BUT I also fancied Macaroni cheese so an idea was born. Pics on the weekend.
Got a three bean chilli for tea. Will buy some Mexican rice to go with it, which is just variation on the same theme. Lots of beans and pulses and spices etc. in other words. Grated cheese on top, some nachos and jalapeño, and a couple of cold beers to wash down watching United labour to a valiant draw.
Brother takes one of the tins of mixed beans he uses in his, dry fries them so they pop/split a little. Gives a different texture/thickens it.
Gonna do a chilli tomorrow now. Did Tikka loaded fries from some slimming recipe she wanted. Wanted chips done in oven so they have as much colour as Terry Waite. Tasted banging with the mango yoghurt drizzle stuff.
Best tip I learned for making chilli, don't rinse the beans just chuck all that horrible water in there.
I saw it in a couple of recipes and thought **** that, then read some award winning guy saying it was essential so tried it and he's not wrong. Adds a really nice savoury flavour and depth too the chilli.
Not convinced! The water always looks a bit dodgy to me. Definitely lob the chilli sauce stuff in though.
