Caribbean stuff is really nice, I'm addicted to jerk chicken.

We have loads of Caribbean fish dishes, old recipes - all very nice. And chicken of course.

When I'm over there I get quite adventurous with food. Some street food I've tried is bizarre though, although mostly it's very nice. Occasionally you'll get the weirdest thing ever. Like stuffed lizard in peppercorn sauce... odd and totally random.

You can pull over and buy Macaroni Cheese in most streets in the evening (especially in shanty towns).
The main streets are full of corn sellers - BBQ corn on the cob 247 everywhere. The streets literally smell of corn and weed.

Had a ranch bbq pizza from dominoes. Feel hideously rough today.

I'm currently enduring the worst hangover I've had in years.
Had a full day out yesterday at the races on the piss.

Had way too much and got a four hours sleep. Then had a four hour meeting this morning.
I feel like curling up into a ball but am instead going to a school summer fayre where I will have hair of the dog and probably feel like ****e again tomorrow.

That all sounds like my misspent youth... just it was at Uni not the Carribean!

So my drive towards fitness isn't going quite as well as I hoped.

I used to be able to run 5k in sub 20 minutes. 45 minutes for a 10k was a 3-4 times a week standard and comfortable workout.

It's become obvious that, after a couple of years of relative inactivity, Stan can't do that anymore.

I may have to reconsider how I refuel between runs.

Not that I'm an expert but a bit of carbs pre-fueling and some reasonable weights work to build those runs up.

I've already identified that crisps and wine aren't helping.

Although potatoes and grapes are carbs, right?

I said I'm no expert <grr> But I'm always amazed by the power of weetabix tbh. I go all out though and eat 3 with a refill of the white stuff.

I used to have this whole porridge phase going on, then the muesli... but those are memories I prefer to forget.

I love weetabix. I actually love most healthy food, including porridge and muesli, and I enjoy exercise.

Sadly I also love unhealthy food and booze.

I'll happily start a day with porridge for breakfast, move on to soup for lunch, then a run, followed by chicken and veg for tea...and then around 8.30pm I start thinking I deserve some proper food and a drink.

Yeh used to do similar, but I made a point of not eating after 8pm because I'd been told (wrongly) that eating anything after then would build fat. Instead I'd come home after my run and drink a mug of jasmine tea (which probably does nothing either but made me feel like it did).

Only just been back running about a month after a 10 month break. Have to get back into my favourite Hawes & Curtis high collar shirts before the summer, that's my measure of success! What I'm really gutted about is actually not going swimming for about 2 years but I struggle to find the time.

Well, that was predictable.

Last night's hair of the dog turned into six pints and the inevitable day 2 hangover.
Not as bad as yesterday though, thank ****.

Shanked my way round the front nine in a haze before my head cleared and I started playing well.

Now having a pepperoni pizza before I mix some concrete out the back.

I've also got to fix the toilet chain. Currently having to use a bucket, which is lovely. **** knows what to do, I ain't no plumber.
