Luv tryin bare hard to convince Pinkie about that fish![]()

Love em both, don't have any places that do them locally, so when I get to somewhere that does, it's always a pain to decide which one to have.

I thought I'd try something different, I know that battered Cod is better, and I guess that pan fried it is always gonna be a tastier dish, but you know, I wanted to try something different, and so I chucked it in a pan of boiling water instead and ...well, it wasn't as good as either of the previously mentioned ways of cooking it, but you know, I did it, so I've got to try and style it out by saying it was nice, and I did put some fancy peppers on it, but I suppose ultimately I wish I'd just gone down the chippy.

I'm lucky I get to work with my man each week who cooks up some lovely Jamaican food. Ackee and Saltfish, Curry Goat, Jerk Chicken, Patties, Dumplings (if he can be bothered)
Got another friend who specialises in sweet Caribbean food, she's from Grand Cayman and makes the most amazing Rum Cake ever. I've posted it up on here a few times.
Getting gently sloshed on sponge cake is a great pastime![]()

My niece's bloke is from Jamaica, and at their daughters christening his uncle did all the catering, jeez it was all so good, he used to have a restaurant but had to sell it through Ill health but you could tell the quality of his cooking. His sister does a mean cake, she lives in London so we don't see her often, I commented the once how good her Brandy cakes and icing were, at the christening she bought up a box full she made me as a gift, bless her.
The only downside to him is, he's a gooner![]()

Take no notice mate, looked a nice bit of fish that.

but better done deep fried in batter![]()
Nah, definitely not,a quality stir fry or a light garlic butter and new spuds.
Prawn pasta tonight but going to try something different @PINKIE won't like it.
So I love prawns but feel that they don't absorb flavour well so I'm going to slice them up so that they are in every bite and take on more flavour.

Poached it, never done that before so not sure how is supposed to look but it's tasted really nice.
