Mash looks fantastic Biryani looking rice for me tonight…not quite a biryani…I don’t really like biryanis…this what I’m making is what homemade savoury rice was back in the day with a curry/biryani sauce

Just made a cup of tea. I find adding a bit of near boiling water to the tea bag really adds to the texture. Slides down the throat.
One of the few things my old dear actually taught me cooking wise. Though I very rarely make it. Maybe it's just in Cornwall where these things aren't known
In fairness to Piskie, I don't. I hated the thought of milk in mash as a kid. It goes with my dislike of cheese, so anything that was milk and butter was a no, no. Thinking about it, I would always add gravy, so where does this logic of milk come from and what's the point, once it's saturated in bisto. Milk and bisto, yuk.
